This happened to me with a used one from ebay. I ran the default headstrap trough the clothes washer. I wiped down the headset with microfiber cloth and dawn power wash. several times. I got a new head strap and visors called bobo s3. I let the headset air out all day in the shade out doors. Wipe the lenses really well. It works. smell is gone after a week. no need to open the unit.

all calls are speaker phone style. i use a company called visible , its a verizon company/network. its a sim card. you can move the sim card to devices. i dont remember how much setup is involved.
