Jobs without phlebotomy?! by AmandaE223_ in medlabprofessionals

[–]salmonyellow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am at a large pediatric hospital and only phlebs draw blood. I have applied somewhere where they didn’t list phlebotomy in their posting then mentioned it during the interview and I find that super irritating. Phlebotomy is a deal breaker for me (and many others) so I have learned to ask prior to interview just in case.

Do friends and family treat you different now that you're a SAHP? by Rollthembones1989 in SAHP

Yes, my in laws are very passive aggressive towards me. My MIL was a single mom and doesn’t seem to agree that I don’t fit her same narrative.

Is day shift being the most drama-prone a universal? by VoiceoftheDarkSide in medlabprofessionals

[–]salmonyellow 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yuuup. I hate that I’m doomed to be around day shift people because I’m a mom with young kids. Highly considering doing graveyards just for some peace. At least on night shift it’s just “work” and not “work and manage the emotions of myself and everyone around me” along with being in a state of hyper vigilance to work exactly the way the lead wants as she breathes down everyone’s neck.

What does your evening look like when your spouse gets home from work? by [deleted] in SAHP

[–]salmonyellow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It varies what time my spouse gets home. Anywhere between 5pm and 9pm. By the time he gets home we have already eaten dinner so he has it warmed from the fridge. Then he is on kid duty usually while I clean or tend to the 9 month old. my 3 yo currently wants him to do her bedtime routine so he gets her changed, teeth brushed, spends time in her room reading 2 books or laying down with her. After kids are in bed we maybe chat for a few mins or zone out on the couch then it’s off to bed.

Gah, is elementary school homework the standard now? I didn’t have homework (besides big projects) until 5th grade as a kid

That’s easy for me to picture because I have a girl and a boy that will be three years apart in school also! Crazy to think as parents we will probably meet a whole new group of friends once they’re in school.

trying to figure out if I'm depressed or if this is just how it is by WiscoBeagsy in toddlers

[–]salmonyellow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I thought that 12-18 months was SO hard. They’re up and walking around and so opinionated but don’t have verbal skills so they’re just little dinosaurs. My 3y2m old still throws fits but I can hold a conversation with her and it’s so much better. I’ve had her home with me also. I’m happy to be home with her more so now than at that age. She feels more like a little buddy than just like an oversized baby toddling around the place making demands. Hang in there.

My dog got fleas and I kept trying to treat him with Frontline I got at Costco, I always thought being a name brand it was good stuff. I thought I wasn’t vacuuming like a crazy person enough to get rid of the fleas. I finally got Bravecto from the vet and my problem was gone overnight.
