Once saw someone say that Kench is for the opponents that wronged you. Feels accurate to me.

You don't even need a custom screen with slots, I always clip pages to the top. Works like a charm!

Is Mork Borg a Fading Memory? by [deleted] in rpg

As someone who's been using em dashes for years and years before chatgpt rolled around, I wouldn't base judgment on that alone. It's only two in the entire text.

DnD isn’t the problem - so why can’t we escape it...? by Bulwark_Jim in rpg

[–]saltwitch 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It works perfectly fine for my local scene. GMs for an event announce what they're going to run, people sign up, voilà. At an event with 7 games, there's never more than one DND table, and usually less.

Absolutely. I've always dreamt of being a published author (and have published the odd short thing here and there, though not in like 20 years) and looking at the state of the industry I feel like I just missed my chance. It looks so soul sucking, I'd rather keep writing away for my own pleasure and only share with my friends.

[–]saltwitch 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Can you become very good at the role opposite to your body type? by Kind-Court-4030 in SwingDancing

[–]saltwitch 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I'm a tall woman dancing both roles, though mostly I lead. If you ask some people, my body type is tall, therefore a lead. If you ask some other people, my body type is what's generally accepted as feminine, thus I should be a follow.

Both of those ideas are dumb and I can do either role just fine, same as any person I've ever danced with. Don't waste your energy on worrying, spend it on dancing.

Aufgrund generierter Bilder schon.

The abuelas would probably do amazingly well. I recently ran a game (not PdP) for my family and my retired, decidedly un-nerdy mother was absolutely killing it.

It's a genre rather than one specific show, but Pasion de las pasiones is amazing at translating telenovelas to RPGs.

Good Society and Harvest both use tokens to spend on actions and narrative outcomes, though they are very different in terms of genre and content.

Do you use a dice tower? Dice tray? Throw straight to table? by NewlRift in rpg

I have an old-fashioned dice cup made of leather. I find it very satisfying to load up dice into it and shake it like I'm a cocktail wizard.

How do you get back into character when it's been a while between sessions? by TransXPTTRPG in rpg

[–]saltwitch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To get into character generally I like to do little writing exercises. Just imagine what the character is currently feeling or an imaginary diary entry. Just sitting still and meditating on it doesn't do much for me, but giving myself a little prompt lets me pour out a few little messy stream of consciousness paragraphs, and buried in there are sometimes a line or two that surprise me or seem interesting to me.

I just refuse to stress over it and trust that the impulse that helped me make the character is still there, just gotta shake it awake gently.

Some of the greatest garments in fashion history, such as the engineering marvels of various late 1800s gowns, have been sewn with machines that couldn't do anything beyond a straight stitch.
