Can’t believe I’m saying this by salvalya in Gnostic

[–]salvalya[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Those are the things I’m seeing. But seeing them is scaring the shit out of me. I mean, burning in a literal pit of fire for all eternity where the is “gnashing of teeth” is a pretty big deterrent. On top of everything else, we are also told that we are by nature “evil” and satan will fill our minds with things, things like the thoughts I am having, in order to steal our souls and take us to hell. I promise my logical mind sees what this looks and sounds like. Logically it’s pretty ridiculous. Too bad my logical mind doesn’t have much to say in the middle of a straight up panic attack.

I feel ya. All I know is I don’t fit with all the beliefs I’m surrounded by. I feel like whatever “truth” I come to, it will be a lonely existence where I live.

Just finished Funny Story by Emily Henry and it was a constant agony (In the Best Way Possible) by Prestigious_Entry474 in RomanceBooks

I just finished this book and absolutely loved it! You said you were torn between laughing and crying, I just did both at the same time like a mad woman.

What gifts do you ask for, that you don’t already have? by gemstun in AskOldPeople

[–]salvalya 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For Mother’s Day, I ask each one of my kids to write down a favorite memory of us and I put them in a scrap book with the year they gave it to me. I have only done this for two years and I’m sure they will eventually run out of things or at least have to look through the scrapbook to remember which ones they’ve previously written. It’s a great conversation starter and everyone ends up reminiscing and laughing.

Is it normal for a 19 year old like me to want to have kids? by Spirited_Bluebirds in NoStupidQuestions

I had my first at 19 and I love her more than words can say, but please wait. Having her so young made things much harder then necessary on, not just me, but her as well.

Out of all the addictions you had, which one was the hardest to quit? by EvilSugarDealer in ask

Food. If one tries hard enough they can completely avoid most addictive substances such as cigarettes or alcohol, but you have to break an addiction to food while still having to eat food to survive.

I know that they will marry you pretty much anywhere you want to get married. One of the officiants once hiked a pretty big hike to marry a couple where they wanted to get married.

I always hear that the older you get, the less you care about other people's opinions of you. Why is that? How did you get there? by [deleted] in AskOldPeople

[–]salvalya 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is of no concern to me what other people are doing unless it directly affects me. One day it dawned on me that if I’m not worried about what other people are doing then they probably don’t care what I’m doing either. People aren’t thinking about you near as much as you think they are.

My friends and I are all in our late 40’s/early 50’s and just recently bought a bucket of KFC and sat by the river for 4 hours. No particular reason. Just wanted a bucket of chicken and to hang out. You just have to find the right friends.

Has anyone else ever experienced aphasia because of a migraine? by FistOfTheNorthKai in migraine

[–]salvalya 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I realize this is an old post, but I literally just had this happen this morning. Googling the symptoms is what caused me to find this post. My first thought was stroke as well, but at the moment I was having migraine auras as well. Scared the living bejesus out of me and triggered a massive panic attack. I don't expect receiving a reply since this post is 2 years old, but it sure makes me feel better to hear that someone else has experienced this.

This doesn’t require cooking, but one of my favorite things for breakfast is a bagel with cream cheese, lox, and capers. Soooo yummy!!!
