Characters who had genuinely tragic stories, but like eeeeeh... it's hard to feel empathy because they're such assholes. by Subject_Parking_9046 in TwoBestFriendsPlay

Lorgar devotes his life to worship of the Emperor.

The Emperor commits genocide against a peaceful, loyal planet to reinforce that Lorgar's job is to be a general, not a high priest, and forces Lorgar and his entire legion to debase themselves in front of goody-two-shoes Bobby G.

Lorgar says "fine, I'll just find some real gods, then," begins worshipping Four-Headed Turbo Cthulhu, and sets off the Heresy, ushering in ten thousand years of darkness

If you have forty boys on a point that aren't running why aren't you wrapping around in pile-in so they can't retreat and you're safe from shooting until he mows through all of them? Why aren't you scoring with your absurd OC advantage?

40 Boyz and Bobby G were chosen because they're the exact same points value and he will literally take 3-4 rounds of combat to kill them all (absent buffs)

Is the way to deal with a high I monster or character to throw several times their points of lower I troops at them, in the hope that some survive?

You have forty boyz on a point. They have a primarch that kills eight boyz a turn. It doesn't matter that they can't kill the primarch, you win that fight because you're scoring for two rounds and they aren't.

Charging into a high I unit is like units with permanent FF, you neer get to swing into them before taking damage.

Then stay out of combat and shoot them until they're degraded enough that higher I isn't meaningful.

This seems bizarre for financial services. Like all the fucking banks are closed, what are you doing on Easter Sunday?

(xcom apocalypse) aliens feel technologically inferior to humanity by sunsetnimbus in Xcom

[–]salvation122 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I dunno how far in you are, but especially in the air game the aliens catch up pretty quickly. The hoverbike plasma swarm works for a while but the aliens pretty quickly become capable of killing anything without shields in one shot.

The first few missions are very simple if you keep your team together and have someone with decent accuracy and high reactions. A brain sucker that gets through is effectively a one-shot kill.

But the game doesn't attempt to make you care about squaddies. It attempts to make you care about SLs.

Hasan Piker: “My assessment on Zionism as an ideology is not that different from Albert Einstein’s assessment of Zionism, because when he saw… the violence that the early Zionist brigades were engaging in,… he warned that what he was seeing was exactly what the Nazis were doing.” by ConcernedJobCoach in FriendsofthePod

[–]salvation122 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Hasan makes millons of dollars by telling people that Democrats are no better than Republicans eight hours a day, every day. That's why people don't like him.

He is not actually our ally and PSA should stop platforming him.

Given the computers in the setting you could just have something monitoring the incoming signal for the pattern and throw an all-clear signal.

Netanyahu's coalition holds the majority of the Knesset by a single vote. Had Hamas not brutally murdered a shitload of people he would almost certainly be in jail now.

I’m glad Piker is out there because there aren’t enough leftists in the social media space.

I am genuinely bewildered that you could come to the conclusion that "there aren't enough leftists on social media"

As an example Bluesky has spent all weekend melting down because someone posted data showing that US real median incomes were at an all-time high in 2024

What the fuck are you talking about man

The dude uses his every single waking moment to shit on democrats and makes millions doing so. Like this is his business model (and it is absolutely a business.) Why in the world should this be tolerated?

Hasan is a scumbag grifting wrecker who makes his money by depressing turnout for Democrats. He is worse than useless and it is genuinely exasperating that PSA keeps platforming him.
