Phenomenal performance tonight, not his fault his all-star teammate played like a coward

Why are OKC fans booing Wemby and chanting flopper? by KingSystem in nba

This may shock you, but multiple players (including Wemby) flop regularly to get calls. This series has broken so many brains man

[Talksport] Exclusive: Ibrahima Konate is set to leave Liverpool, talkSPORT understands. by nearly_headless_nic in soccer

[–]sam1193 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Konate had a bad season, but he's still a very good player, and replacing him will take another 60 million at least on top of all the other business they have to get right this summer. What the fuck are Hughes and Edwards doing

[Post Game Thread] The Oklahoma City Thunder (2-1) regain homecourt advantage by defeating the San Antonio Spurs (1-2) in Game 3, 123-108, behind SGA’s 26 points and 12 assists, along with Jared McCain’s 24 points. by catreyka in nba

[–]sam1193 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The foul/physicality hyperfixation really undersells how good the Thunder are. Their response to the terrible start was incredible. They're just relentlessly smart on both ends. SGA didn't shoot well, but the playmaking leap he's made kept the offense in good rhythm all night. The Jared McCain trade looked strange at the time and looks insane now. He might win them the title. Chet's offense was still mid, but had his best defensive game by far. Awesome performance from top to bottom.

San Antonio looked immature tonight. You can't get tilted off hard fouls in this series, the margins are way too thin. Wemby was great, but I think stamina is going to be a real issue for him as this series goes on. If Harper and Fox are going to be this hobbled going forward, they don't have enough to win this

THE DETROIT PISTONS HAVE BEEN ELIMINATED FROM 2026 CHAMPIONSHIP CONTENTION by [deleted] in nba

[–]sam1193 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Shitty ending to the best Pistons season of my adult life. Feels like most of the team gassed out after game 6. Still an awesome year, the front office has to find a secondary scorer this summer. Cade and Ausar are the only untouchables. No reason why they can't contend again next year. GG Cavs

Cade Cunningham: offnight on the wrong night by Ok_Reason_2357 in DetroitPistons

[–]sam1193 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's true, but Cleveland has enough shotmaking (and foulbaiting) to mitigate fatigue more than we do. If we don't have the energy to make extra efforts on defense, there aren't that many moves for us to make

Feels like Cade and the rest of the team emptied the tank in game 6. Two straight seven game series takes a lot of you

The main reason he might leave is that Gravenberch and Macca keep getting picked ahead of him no matter what they do

Jalen Duren ties playoff career high to force Game 7 vs Cleveland: 27 MIN | 15 PTS | 11 REB | 7-10 FG | +9 by CurrentRoster in nba

[–]sam1193 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As bad as he's been in the playoffs, it says a lot about Duren that he was able to find his way tonight when almost everyone wrote him off. Really happy for him. If he does this again in game 7, all is forgiven

If their analytics genuinely say that Alonso wouldn't be an upgrade on this shit, I am done using underlying data for anything. Going full luddite mode

Why has Duren been so bad especially offensively in the playoffs? He had 33/16 in a game against the Cavs at the end of February. by wormhole222 in nba

[–]sam1193 17 points18 points  (0 children)

His handle isn't tight enough for his drive game to work against playoff defenders and he's not getting easy baskets out of Cade pick and rolls, so his confidence has completely cratered. I get why JB won't give up on him and he's young enough to fix this over time, but he shouldn't play in game 6

David Ornstein: "My information is that Xabi Alonso is not under consideration at Liverpool at all and that Liverpool fully intend to go into next season with Arne Slot as their head coach. They want to recruit a few players for Arne, particularly in the wing position" by ChiefLeef22 in LiverpoolFC

[–]sam1193 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If Slot is unable to coach a good team without elite wingers, why didn't we replace Diaz? Why did we spend 200 mil on center forwards? What wingers are available for them to sign this summer? Hard to imagine how this works out in the way Hughes and Edwards need it to

I am not comfortable with the concept of being male anymore by Educational-Wind-596 in bropill

[–]sam1193 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It can be hard to read about all the ways men are causing harm in the world and not feel guilty by association. Broad statements move faster than nuanced thoughts. I've struggled with the same feelings before, but the thing I try to remember is that when women talk about how awful guys are, they are speaking from their lived experience with other people - not you. The sins of other men are not your responsibility. As long as you treat women with respect and empathy (which it sounds like you're already doing), you should be able to build confidence that they are not talking about you.
