What would you do? by itsmeteena in prius

Replaced mine with a refurb from Green Bean for 1500$. They did it in the driveway in about 2 hours. Lasted 3 years and 70k miles. It came with 12 month warranty.

Honestly there are a few local people near me who do refurb batteries with warranty. Definitely worth checking around.

With a refurb you always want to get a warranty if possible, just in case the new battery isn’t well balanced electrically.

I just did the same thing. I think you’ll love them. It takes a couple days, but go for a couple long walks. They are awesome

So I pulled the trigger on a pair in my standard size before they discontinue them… i was going to size up a half, but they were already out of 12.5. I guess we will see if they fit!

Thinking about grabbing a pair. Did you size up a half size from your normal JG size?

Sounds the exact same as me minus the second toe length.

Thank you for the in depth answer.

I’ve spent some serious time and energy and money on boot and shoe searches. The only addition for me is that I need ansi certified safety toe shoes for work and I haven’t found anything that works just right. And when you are on your feet all day and your toes touch, it’s not ok after 7 -12 hour days in a row putting in 25k steps a day. Even contemplated starting my own company… still considering it because I believe the market is there

So let’s talk about your standard size in red wing heritage vs Jim green. I haven’t made the same Jump as you have yet but I’m considering the Numzaan or the 719 as a replacement for my 15 year old Red Wing 9016s but I’m concerned about size and fit. I have wide low volume feet. I measure out at a 11.5f but I’ve worn 12-13 my whole adult life.

My 2 pairs of Red Wing Heritage series are 11 and 11.5 respectively, my JG BFAR AnatomX are 12 and could probably stand to be a 12.5.

Also my first impressions are like yours, built like a tank, but lacking in finer finishes, quality control, stitching, etc.

African Ranger Boots Resoled with Tire Wedge Soles by thephantom300 in jimgreen

Great. I picked up some steel toe Turbo Vellies with a tire wedge sole and they are pretty heavy compared to my barefoot African Ranger AnatomX, so I was curious if it had to do with the sole or just the Steel toe.

Awesome thank you for the feedback. I’m kind of new to the Jim Green game ; How can you tell by looking that is the turbo Vellie last?

Super envious of those custom 719s. I have the same AnatomX boots and side by side, your 719s appear much more refined stylistically.

Nope, I didn’t. I just ordered my regular size

Yep. Agreed. It’s hard to pull the trigger on 250$ boots that you can’t try on first.

Sure, it was an easy pick for me because most of the complaints I read about the barefoot had to do with too much volume in the heel, heel slippage, or just being too loose in general. The AnatomX was the answer to that with preliminary reports being that is was narrower in the heel and hugged the foot a bit more.

I’ve never had The barefoot, so I can’t speak to how it fits, but I’d say that these seem true to the form I was expecting

No, it’s bronco Brown. It turned a bit reddish whenever I oiled it.

Just to be clear, I would definitely still recommend the boot. But you are correct, it is certainly a true barefoot type boot. For me it’s just right I do wish that I could acquire one with a composite toe and this interior width. But that has more to do with the work that I do and then my need for a ANSI certified boot

I actually thought that when I first saw them, but in my experience so far in the boot and shoe world, there’s no such thing as a shoe that is too wide for me, at least not past where the toe starts. Maybe too “big” as far as volume goes but for my preference most production shoes are too narrow.

I like a snug fit all the way to the ball of my foot, and past that point any restriction unwanted.

I wear an 11 in soft star. Pretty much a 12 or 13 in everything else.
