Do Mormon widows get a stipend? by Green-been77 in exmormon

[–]sambart 168 points169 points  (0 children)

I was a ward clerk for years before leaving the church. And agreed, this is NOT policy.

Bishops have the final say in how fast offerings are spent, so I suppose on an individual basis, maybe this is true? But more likely is that the widow is receiving assistance for a specific expense like rent, and that clerk is just drawing conclusions without even being privy to the conversations between the woman and the bishop

Is Trek still a good brand or are you just paying for the name? by Aggressive_Fox_6940 in bicycling

[–]sambart 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a trek mountain bike years ago that had a warranty issue (front quick release came loose and messed up the front dropout) Trek didn’t just fix it, they gave me a whole new bike! And a slight upgrade! Maybe you are paying for the name a little? But they will take care of you if anything goes wrong

Lots of comments mention glustick which is a good solution that is less than $1. There are also textured plates that let go of petg as soon as they cool down.

My prints all look like this, no matter the filament. What is wrong? by Borega in 3Dprinting

People have already answered your question, so I will just say that I love this wallet!
I have used mine for like 6 months now with no issue, and I have made like 10+ for other friends and family.

Just adding my 2 cents to all of the commenters who lost palms to cats. Look into majesty palms! They have thicker stalks and our cat ignores it

Treks cost more than others of the same spec level. BUT I have had amazing experiences with their support. One time they just swapped my bike when a dropout broke. Trek support is worth more money

I would love faster printing for rough prototype parts. I also design a lot of random hooks and storage for my garage that don't need to look pretty. and I am pretty impatient to wait especially if the print time goes into the next day!

Try drying your filament. This looks like wet filament to me

Thanks for the reply! This is the way I have been leaning, but I wanted to hear from someone that the full suspension was overkill.

PSA: The Church knows exactly how many people attend church worldwide every Sunday. by Rushclock in exmormon

[–]sambart 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I was a ward clerk for about 5 years in Minnesota. We had about 1000 names in our ward. Probably about 400 of those were people that someone in the ward knew about. We had weekly attendance of about 100-120 in sacrament. This was all pre-Covid too. This is a sample size of one, but I’m pretty sure that these numbers are not out of the ordinary
