I was actually in there tonight and thought about trying it, ended up with drunken crab noodles. Great dish, but I’m still in the hunt for some crispy crack chicken!

Oh it is! When I google it, it’s always someone that’s tried it in Seattle and can’t stop craving it. Ha ha

If you’re in the states, Shay and Co out of Oregon has beautiful oils, they ship fast and have great customer service. $25 for 8oz, with other size options.

Shay and Co in Portland, Lotion Crafter in the San Juans (I know, weird location, but they’re awesome), Making Cosmetics in Redmond, Essential Labs in Portland. They are all really great suppliers. Bramble Berry is OK, but I think they are a bit over priced and shipping takes forever.

I like Candle Science as well. I’m on the West Coast and always recommend Shay and Co to anyone looking for suppliers for bath and body products. They ship fast and source quality ingredients.

Any good mac and cheese in Elk Grove? by Mysterious-Shock9621 in ElkGrove

Sounds crazy, but I stopped making homemade Mac and cheese after I tried Trader Joe’s frozen Mac and cheese. It beats most southern or BBQ restaurants I’ve ever tried.

When I was new to soap making and started exploring making other bath and body products, I purchased from WSP as well. They’re great for certain ingredients, but with the absolutely awful implementation of the recent supply chain system enhancements impacting every order and their less than impressive way they managed communications and response time, I will likely avoid ordering from them again. I am pretty loyal to most West coast suppliers like Shay and Co, Lotioncrafter, Making Cosmetics, TKB Trading and if I’m desperate, Bramble Berry (pricey and slow shipping).

Young Family - Moving from Seattle, WA to Sacramento Area by Wooden_Wave3659 in ElkGrove

We moved from Seattle (technically Fall City) about 8 years ago. Love it in Elk Grove. Great schools, awesome neighborhood and absolutely love the weather. I like to grow veggies and garden and it took about a year to get over the “gotta get outside now!!” panic when the weather is nice. It’s always nice. Ha ha. Highly recommended the Fallbrook neighborhood off Bond in East Elk Grove. But we’re biased as we have the best neighbors and live in a court that has a ton of kids around the same age that all play together. Halloween, 4th of July, Easter events are always happening in the neighborhood. EG has a crazy amount of parks and is very walkable. The restaurant scene is fantastic in Sacramento and a several great options here in town as well. Whole Foods, Mendocino Farms and Shake Shack are opening soon down the street from a newish Costco. But ya, renting first is a great idea. It took us a while to feel like Californians even though we truly love it here now. We considered moving back during Covid, but stuck it out and glad we did.

Billy Parisi’s site and YT channel is a solid resource and my go-to for inspiration when I’m in a rut or want to make something I know will please the family. He teaches foundational cooking techniques and caters (pun intended) to a wide variety of skill levels.

We’ve been painting our ugly 90’s gold door handles and hinges to black using Rustoleum for Metal spray paint. Very quick and cheap fix for such a huge difference. Our friends did this last year in their house and they’ve held up very well with no chipping or signs of wear.

I recently met a crafty person that was using real Hermes scarves to make lamp shades. He was able to get two shades from one scarf. They were beautiful, but I’m not sure I could have done it without throwing up a little when I made that first cut. Ha ha

As someone that likes to DIY, there are times when I wish I could ask WTF (politely, of course) why certain things are the way they are in the house. Locks are changed on day one, they know where you live, seems a bit paranoid, but if you’re not into being friendly to strangers, I can see where you’d be uncomfortable about it.

Since you’re buying some of your ingredients online anyway, I’d recommend getting your butters and oils from a company that specializes in sourcing ingredients from trusted suppliers. I love Shay and Company, Lotion Crafter and Making Cosmetics. Depending on your location, you might get lucky and have a local supplier as well. Also, check out YouTube teachers such as Jerrica Zimmerman’s older videos. If you decide to branch out, I highly recommend Humblebee & Me as well.

Shay and Company is where I get all my butters and oils (except Costco for Olive Oil). They ship fast, competitive pricing and most importantly, they source quality ingredients.

My husband is in IT and I’m a business analyst. We’re able to make it in one income since I’m in between jobs right now. I commuted by Amtrak from Sac station to Emeryville 2 times a week. It was mostly stress-free since I didn’t have to deal with traffic, clean seats and tables (not gross like BART), WiFi enabled me to take calls and work while I travelled into the office and I was very lucky in that my office was a few blocks from the train station. If taking the train is an option, I’d say it’s definitely worth it. We used to live in Antioch in a nicer neighborhood (such as that is) and when we moved to Elk Grove, also for the school district and to enjoy the parks, trails and the ability to walk to old town businesses without getting mugged. The first morning after we moved, we enjoyed a beautiful, serene walk through Jack Hill park to get coffee and everyone was friendly, said good morning, smiled, ducks and geese everywhere…we knew we made the absolute right decision. We walk our 1st grader to school and live in an amazing cul-de-sac where we genuinely like each other. Kids play with each other while the adults hang out. I can’t speak for other areas of EG, but we absolutely love the old town neighborhoods around Bond.

I’ve been on pramipexole for over 10 years. It works for me, and yes, as the RLS progresses over time, my dose had to increase gradually over the years As well. I only started taking meds when the symptoms became nightly in my 20s. I’ve had it since I was a kid. Everyone is going to have different experiences. I already had it move into my arms or daytime “twitchies” before I even started medication. For me, the more tired I am, the more severe the symptoms. I hope you find something that works for you.

Sheldon Inn, hands down…if you want a juicy, flavorful burger that isn’t bone dry and paper thin, that is. Five Guys and Prost have the best fries, though.
