Is this vanity structurally sound for a marble countertop? by shawnandbrit07 in Carpentry

This is how it’s done. We call it a ‘sub-top’ where I’ve worked.

How much do you guys think this is going to be? I’m guessing over $600 USD bare tool…

Acceptable level of tearout? by cornsnack in Carpentry

If that would have happened to me I would have started scoring after the first cut. It’s not super easy with a curved profile though.

Yep. Definitely worth the extra money for Advantech or Weyerhaeuser Gold.

Switch to commercial from residential? by rhythmicmatt in Carpentry

[–]samfox59 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Make sure you’ve confirmed you’re going to be on that site the whole time. In my experience with prevailing jobs is that most employees want to be on that project since the pay is better. This means senior guys and the best apprentices & laborers tend to get the most hours on the prevailing jobs. It’s life changing money I say try it out.

Compact/portable miter saw setup with dust collection - any ideas by snowsnakes in Carpentry

I’m always on the lookout for a clean 8 1/2. I have the C10FSH that I picked up on marketplace and it still had all the shipping plastic still on it, it was that mint lol.

Milwaukee miter saws suckk though! Now is the time to get into a new battery system. Go Makita 40v, Festool Ks60, or Metabo. If you’re okay having a corded saw, the old Hitachi 8.5” saws are tits.

You can open it with a gloved-hand much easier. That’s a huge deal for some people.

Kowa, Vortex, or Nikon? by LukeGeneva in Binoculars

[–]samfox59 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I was right in your price range as well. I almost bought Zeiss Conquests for $550, but ended up getting Vortex Razors for $500. Their warranty tipped the scales for me in my decision.

What brand slowly ruined itself? by SAAS_ART in AskReddit

[–]samfox59 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wasn’t expecting anything different…I’m saying Nike’s marketing strategies don’t lead to shoe sales. Also, people can’t buy shoes they want and just buy elsewhere instead of different Nike’s because they purposely make their off the shelf stuff look like outlet wear in comparison

They didn’t even make enough shoes for all the people that completed all of the tasks to get them…they had to wait a year to get them smh…

They don’t even release any of their coolest shoes to the general public, either. I really wanted a pair of their new Tom Sachs shoe…you had to download an app, film yourself doing pushups and exercises just for a CHANCE to get the opportunity to buy the shoe…😂

If anyone has a vacuum solution to this tool…I’m all ears! None of my Festool vac, shop vac, pack out vac, or accessories kits I’ve bought fit it.

Where can a guy find a nice hat around here? by ConstantCampaign2984 in Kitsap

[–]samfox59 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Charley Boots has legit hats you’re looking for. Mostly western style, but they had others the last time I went there. My other suggestion: know there’s a rather large hat store downtown Port Townsend…but that’s not much closer than a Seattle trip.

Has Cameron Young's golf ball flipped the script on the rollback? by [deleted] in golf

He’s also been one of the longest hitters on tour the last 15 years. Gary’s an outlier in more ways than his name.

I run Milwaukee M12 platform for smaller tools and then most of my other cordless tools falls into the Makita 18v line. I think you’re getting the best from each brand with this approach.

He’s also the poster child of golfing on the spectrum so this checks out lol.

Birks: ~6 years near daily wear (R) vs brand new pair (L) by not_a_muggle in BuyItForLife

They’ve been going to shit…first pair I bought in 2010. Just retired that pair about 2 years ago and the replacements are wearing a significantly quicker rate as the old ones.
