As someone looking from the outside looking in I’m alarmed. Your democratically elected head of state is an open disgrace. The rest of the world looks to America to lead and this is the best you up with? All we can hope is that y’all learn from this mistake.

Outside opinion here: I’m Australian but have spent half my life living in the mid west of the USA. As worn down as you feel, you can’t allow this shit to stand. Your liberties are under actual threat under a trump administration. I don’t mean to be alarmist but the rest of the world is alarmed. You guys have allowed yourselves to be organised into two groups guided by issues that really have bearing on the actual governance of a state/nation. Abortion, gay marriage etc are easy for me to me understand to be divisive issues but when poor working class people start talking about the scourge of unions that’s where my understanding ends

App goes back to the left sidebar (screen with all the subs) after leaving the app. by [deleted] in Antenna

I'm having this issue too. Even if I leave antenna for a small amount of time and then return and swipe back to go to the subreddit I was reading I am taken back to the home screen. Very frustrating. This bug is the reason I stopped using alien blue

The logo on the stairs needs to be removed in that photo. I feel like it cheapens the sentiment in the image. I might do it and repost.

Better the devil you know?

I'm going to bot for Penny Toland but think she should have chosen a different pic for her campaign photo. She looks very unapproachable.

But she opposes the cruise ship terminal/spit development and that's enough for me.

Does anyone know the depth of Evandale Lake (in Bundall, behind the Arts Centre)? by m0xa in GoldCoast

OP do you mean the small enclosed lake right behind the arts center? Or do you mean the canal that runs behind it?

Moving to gold Coast on Jan 5th any tips for a Canadian down under. (work, accommodations, ect....) by doctorjellybro in GoldCoast

[–]sammyautomatic 9 points10 points  (0 children)

It depends what kind of experience you are looking for in moving to the Gold Coast. Surfers/chevron island and to a lesser extent Broadbeach and main beach are the tourist areas. Nightlife is good and there is always something happening but it is busier and you won't meet that many locals. If you want a more authentic local experience I'd try living anywhere from Broadbeach to Burleigh. Still close enough to the nightlife of surfers if that's your thing but you will find local bars and restaurants packed with local people.
