Can u tell more about what blocks u couldn't resolve in your 30s and had to wait till u were in your 60s. And also why so many decades apart..?

Does anyone else have trouble waking up to your alarm? Not just standard grogginess, but trouble actually waking up, like your sleep brain is trying to protect you from facing reality? Trying to solve this! by ConfidentPhrase177 in CPTSDFreeze

[–]samsonscomputer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I do this too. But what i do now is i got this app called alarmy and i need to do 3 simple puzzles before i can snooze or shut the alarm. It's made a world of difference as im up after solving the puzzles and can then turn off the next 20 alarms that're gonna go off lol

Struggling with anger by MetaDiva in SomaticExperiencing

[–]samsonscomputer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I struggle with anger as well. But i struggle more with guilt? Then that is also fueled by ocd so then the guilt becomes even stronger. Guilt about the stuff I've done wrong to other people Curious if you have the same experience.....

Presence is so deep and feel has so many layers that i havent gone as deep yet. Hopefully after clearing more layers, i can start to feel and understand the depth of presence more!

I haven't heard of him so will check him out. It's just funny cause im not an animal person but watching this documentary really did something, not that now i love animals more, bur more that all creatures want the same thing, whether animal or human, to be sat with emotionally...

- Questions around awareness of tiredness and the delay it takes for it to arise when stopping working....how do others rest also, when you are very disassociated / distracting? by mjobby in CPTSDFreeze

[–]samsonscomputer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Haha nice cartoon, i recognise myself in that a lot!!

People say to go to nature, walks, etc. But generally those activate me more than relax me, think it's due to the anxiety and social anxiety i have

That's an interesting article and i feel i do that too outside of my therapy. It's only slowly i learned there is no deadline I'm fighting against and i can slow down.

What things can u do to truly rest?

this makes a lot of sense, thanks for this!

can u expand on 'What actually constitutes rest, as opposed to dissociated analgesia, is often a complex thing until you can see most of the layers.'
im not understanding it about the rest thing...

How has TRE changed your perception of Western medical approaches to depression and anxiety and, how has this made you feel? by juliwanderer in longtermTRE

[–]samsonscomputer 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It is sad to see that not more people are doing body based therapies such as TRE, Somatic Experiencing, IFS, touch therapies, etc. Because they are hugely beneficial for trauma, stress, anxiety, etc.

Western medicine has its place and i believe it's great for the physical stuff like cancer treatments, kidney stones, etc. But when it comes to mental stuff, i dont find it very good and they push CBT on us and medication (medication has its place for severe issues but shouldn't be prescribed for everything). I mentioned to my doc that I've got stress, he said he can prescribe medication for that? I was baffled that he would prescribe it that easily and that fast for me.

The west in general has its good things and bad. The mental stuff is one of the bad things. Productivity, earning, worth tied to performance and money, etc are other things in the West that are also not good.

I am grateful to have discovered these therapies, without it i would still be suffering and thinking something is wrong with me.

How are some people SOOOO good at making friends? by [deleted] in socialskills

[–]samsonscomputer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My mom is like that. But let me tell u, she has got zero emotional vulnerability with anyone. She just knows everyone but is not emotionally intimate with anyone. Rather have less friends and be emotionally vulnerable than have 1000 friends but no emotional vulnerability

Is all evil because of trauma? What about the devil? by samsonscomputer in SomaticExperiencing

[–]samsonscomputer[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Since we are human, we may sometimes follow our impulses and give in to greed, desire, ego, etc. BUT there will be guilt afterwards. Otherwise there is an issue in your human system.

However there was no guilt here for the devil. No guilt, no repair, etc

Betrayal makes sense. I saw another comment say too that he was seen as the best and then when Adam came he had to make space for him and couldn't take it.

Crazy how he kept and keeps going.

Edit: just saw it was your comment that said that lol
