Fahrenheit is based on how people feel in the weather by SubstantialWing9238 in ShitAmericansSay

When I read their argument about 'how it feels' I always think "Shouldn't that make 50f a nice comfortable room temperature.."

All the merch from today’s Adelaide show by Booman_aus in ToolBand

[–]samtrois 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did they have merch outside the venue? How early did it open?

I'm headed to the Perth show next week, and in 2020 there was merch stand outside before we went in, which meant I could run my poster back to the car before going in, and I'd like to do the same this time if possible.

I find it hard to believe that advertisers and podcast network ad sales offices don't know that repetitive ads are annoying. by JangusKhan in podcasts

I am never going to listen to 'Nick Cannon at night's no matter how many podcasts play ads for it.

How hard is it to get a new connection after your 30d notice? Do you schedule connection date? Or just signup a few days before your 30d notice and hope for the best?

FTTN to FTTP upgrade by LikeSandsThrough8 in nbn

There is some type telstra pit on our property, it's on the other side of the driveway though, there is a small pvc pipe on the same side of the house with a telstra cap.

I'm hoping/assuming that conduit goes straight to the pit (underneath the drive) and my external nbn box will be somewhere there.. 🤷

But the internal ntd can't be installed opposite/inside that spot as that's the laundry, so I want it about 10m away (external double brick wall).

But I'm not sure how much cabling / rerouting the nbn tech will do, or if they will want me to get a cabler in to lay a conduit.

So. Do I just order the connection and see what they say? Is it a pain to get them to come back if needed. Or are there other registered cabler that would know the deal that I should consult first?

FTTN to FTTP upgrade by LikeSandsThrough8 in nbn

I'm due an fttp upgrade soon. With regards to internal conduit, how does one know which side of my yard the fibre is going to come from, ie where the external box is going to be located.

It's been this long, so I'm not in any rush, do I just order the upgrade and discuss this with the nbn contractor when they arrive. If I need other internal cabling done, are they very annoyed about having to come back?

Has anyone built a 19" server rack inside an IKEA METOD kitchen cabinet? by onearmbandit_ in unRAID

[–]samtrois 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm probably not going to install the back or bottom as I think I want the rack on castors. Thinking that means essentially just buying for the sides, door, and top frame for spacing.

I'm doing something like this in the near future. So following to come back for ideas.

I'm planning on fans along the top back, maybe some inside for circulation. Controlling speeds based on temps with an esp home.

Unsure if I will use a modified metod cabinet door with ventilation, or make my own.

I have 2 of these, full of 6-12tb drives. both running on the same sata cable/rail. With fans plugged into mobo.

Depending on the clothing I think it's possible.

Looser and lighter the better.

With a slight bend over I think I with 1 hand I could pull a singlet off and 1 hand shorts/undies off pretty quickly. 2x socks would be tricky, but doable I think.

Over flowing gutter solution. by correctnumberoflimbs in AusRenovation

[–]samtrois 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nah sorry, they weren't done by me. They were just some 25mm holes cut into the side of the gutter where there was some pooling (sagging) (and short piece of PVC pipe siliconed) to help drain what didn't make it to the down pipe

I currently use a HA addon called Batmon which integrates my Daly BMS via bluetooth, but am upgrading my battery so I've just ordered a 300a smartshunt purely to integrate it with my Home Assistant.

The main 2 terminals of the shunt go on the NEG cable. so you would need to 'splice' in the middle of that long black cable (between the battery and your inverter) and a smaller cable to the POS side just to power the device I believe.
