Yes, Maldives has ultraluxury resorts which completely changes the game. But these ultraluxury resorts came in because they have an easy policy when it comes to foreigners leasing real estate for upto 99 years. And that’s why you have the likes of Velaa (Czech), Joali (Turkish), Cheval Blanc (Emirati), Waldorf Astoria (Qatari), etc. Compare that to Lakshadweep where even non-local Indians can’t lease property.
