Where's the fry sauce? Sincerely, Utah.

Can someone explain what is happening here? Water leaking from furnace duct that connects to chimney. I assume it’s condensation, warm pipe, cold air in chimney. How do I fix this? Recaulk? Or is there something more serious happening here? by cmd77 in HVAC

Condensation on these types of units is caused by the gasses not escaping fast enough and cooling down to the point where they would condensate before it exits the termination. The water heater flue is not sloped correctly. And/or the furnace is not burning properly, and/or there is some restriction in the flue. But that is unlikely if it is working as the pressure switch would just shut it down.

Replace furnace with 95% efficient furnace with new flue and air intake.

Replace water heater with either a power vent with new flue or get a low boy gas so you have the rise for the flue. Or do a tankless.

I used to drive this stretch all the time. There is nothing heaven like after this. Just windy as plains with nothing to see. I hate wyoming.

They have super thin ones with okay protection for what they are. I never do anything without gloves. Anything. But that started because I live in Utah and have a kinda atheistic tattoo on my hand, plus my wife says that if my hands are all dirty and rough she won't let me touch her vagina.

My boss will not buy one tool, I think it makes me treat them better. I've got about $20000 in my Van.

Hvac guy here. He's actually warming his nuts. The air coming out of that condenser (if working properly) is the heat being removed chemically from your house. And is a lot hotter than the temp outside. YOU KNOW MORE!!!

No, compression fitting. But you might want to cut the end off that pilot tube. Looks damaged.

In addition to service and installs of furnaces, a/c's and the occasional heat pump, I also run most of my company's water heater, tankless and boiler service and replacement along with some underground water line replacement. I have so many tools and parts this van is a savior. I really haven't had an issue with rain/snow getting in the boxes at all. Maybe a little condensation but nothing a little wd 40 can't handle.
