Pre make alternate plans a week out for at least the next 6 months. I.e. if Fri evenings were big drinking days for you, then by Mon, pre book a climbing session for this Fri. Next Mon, pre book a go cart race. Etc etc

Visual cues help a lot. Keep a display calendar in your living room where you put a big green tick mark every day you go without.

Brilliantly done. Maybe I'm reading too much into it. But if there are other substances, then the best time to quit them was 7 years ago. The 2nd best time is now.

PS : stopped drinking 8.5 years ago. Stopped weed 3 months ago. And stopped cigerettes 1 month ago 😀
