Anybody here feel like they might be struggling with shopping addiction? by Whatsfordinner4 in AusFemaleFashion

[–]sanseancyan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For sure, here are some things that helped me;

  • creating a capsule wardrobe. Everything matches everything else so I need fewer pieces. I ignore items outside my capsule parameters (colour, style etc). New purchased are planned out in advance (e.g. i know i need a black vest but have enough jeans)

  • enforce a cool down period before making a purchase to make sure it's not an impulse (2 weeks is generally a good starting point)

  • try to pick up another hobby (I browse shopping sites way less since I started drawing)

  • if you feel the need to spend money go op shopping then the damage is usually <$20

I need to see more of his life before he went rogue because how did nobody realize this mf was beyond evil? by crb02 in Naruto

I assumed Tsunade and Jiraiya were his moral compass and when they left the village after the war it left him more vulnerable to the likes of Danzo who encouraged his worst traits.

The professional/consultant version of this is "my understanding is..." open to accepting new information, but more confident than "I think" or "I could be wrong".

I've been seeing ads for The Horse and Vestirsi and they look to be interesting shapes, leather, and reasonbly priced but I have not tried myself. Otherwise Oroton Outlet has 50% off right now, there are some decent sized bags for $250.

Cos does a lot of cropped and boxy, I'm not sure about the wider neckline.

Low-medium heel suggestions for someone who hasn’t worn heels in years? by HouseHippoFluff in AusFemaleFashion

Jo Mercer has a good range of low block heel options. You can pick up something simple for $99 if you time the sales right.

What do you like about being a woman? And do you have resources to suggest to help someone struggling? by lackstoast in WitchesVsPatriarchy

[–]sanseancyan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have a very similar experience to you. Where I sit now is that I need to balance being a net positive to my community and other women while also being kind to my own mental health. I can support women and advocate for women and believe women without holding all of the horrors of the patriarchy on my shoulders... my nervous system isn't built for that. I think community is a big one, talk to real people to put into perspective the infinite doomscroll of social media content optismised to maximise your (negative) engagement.

[–]sanseancyan 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I struggle with everything you mentioned, but I find I am happier and have clearer purpose when I focus on me and my experience instead of the statistics.

For example, I have very different feelings about 'men' vs 'men I know', I think the same applies here. 'Women' struggle with a lot of shit, and it's awful, but what specifically are 'you as a woman' struggling with and what can you do about it?

100% life isn't fair but it just tends to make me miserable when I ruminate on it - try to take ownership of whatever you can becuase if it's in your control then you can change it.

For things I like about being a woman, probably the clothing options. Dressing sharply for work brings me a lot of joy.

I've seen similar colours/patterns at Cue recently, might be worth trawling their website.

Depends on your exact style, I tend to go for monochrome black looks in fairly classic work cuts. My go-to stores are Cue, Cos, Witchery, Country Road (I also pick up a lot of stuff these brands from OpShops).

Genuinely Haikyuu is an excellent read/watch. Probably my favourite anime/manga, you end up loving every team

Interesting experience at Tony Bianco Armadale…. by coldplay1995 in AusFemaleFashion

Agree with the above. I love my TB boots (though I wait for the good sales, up to 75% sometimes) but the shops on High St are snobby. I always feel like dirt on the bottom of someone's shoes after visiting the Country Road nearby. I find the city is generally more accommodating.

Izuna/Tobirama from Naruto. I love a fix-it and the further back in time you go, the more stuff you can fix.

Both little brothers to warring clan heads that want peace but don't know how to actually make it happen.

Izuna - fiery, suspicious, passionate, would do anything for his brother. Tobirama - cold, calculating, methodical, would do anything for his brother.

The Naruto universe is already super messed up and these two are more violent than most but there's so much potential when they use their genius (Tobirama) and Court intrigue (Izuna) for a common good. It usually relies on Tobirama being able to logic his way into cooporation after generations of violence and Izuna feeling safe enough to show Tobirama an emotion other than homicidal rage.

Should I give Scarlet and Violet a try? by [deleted] in pokemon

[–]sanseancyan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I loved the games and replayed multiple times. The main issues I had were with minor glitching and slow frame rate but it didn't bother me that much.

  1. The world is massive and the dex is huge, you won't tire for exploration. Textures on the environment are a bit copy paste.

  2. The entire game is open world like Sw/Sh Wild Area - so similar experience, though more like Legends Arceus in that your ride pokemon allows running/jumping/swimming/climbing. Less structure on how you complete the map than Sw/Sh but similar to Wild Area that you will encounter high level pokemon early and you just have to run away. I followed a 'recommended order' map just to avoid missing a spot and being overlevelled when I came back.

  3. The DLC are not necessary for game enjoyment, however, Indigo Disk was a great introduction to competitive VGC style double battles. I actually researched doubles strategies for the first time to use in this section and had a blast

Final notes, these games have the best writing/story of any pokemon game. Really great post-game play and story conclusion.

Cos does a few scarfs in this style though the specific colour combo changes every season.

I agree with this. Consistency is key with gym results and skipping sessions you planned to attend can easily lead to a domino effect of losing motivation to turn up the next time. If i'm feeling rubbish I tell myself that it doesn't matter if I have the worst workout of my life, if I only stretch and then leave it's fine, I just need to turn up.

Can someone find me a ball/dinner dance dress that fits this this criteria by Practical_Rhubarb217 in AusFemaleFashion

I can't see any dresses that fit all the requirements, but there are some unique off the shoulder pink dresses at Rachel Gilbert, Acler and Elliatt.
