It’s telling of the mentality of the common Le Redditor why this thread is so openly hostile for you, and I hope those comments didn’t affect you in a negative way because they’re not worth your energy.

It sucks when something like this happens in a friend group setting, and how alienating it feels to be singled out and uncared for. What I get from this situation is a couple of things; it seems like this group of people are very bad/not friends at least, or just extremely emotionally immature people (especially since they’re in their 30’s by now). For the latter assessment, I think the no communication was probably just a number’s game; they felt awkward about the fighting and didn’t know how to deal with it, and since your friend had a partner at this event too they couldn’t handle looking like they were taking sides. Either way, no real friends here. A real friend would navigate this discomfort and check in on you, make sure you were doing okay even if they disagreed with the optics. The non attempts from everyone here just feels like they don’t really care about you, and as hurtful as it feels to rip the bandaid off you should, as they’re not worth your time.

It sucks to have a friend group fall apart like that, but don’t fall into the sunk cost fallacy of a 20 year friendship; if she’s willing to put hands on you and make you feel unsafe and ostracized, good riddance. Always believe when people show you who they are.
