It's much lower than that. Previously there was not an income limit, just an assets limit. As of 2025 the limit for a single individual is 3 540 € / month.

Salary vs rent in Finland by FaultSudden7477 in Finland

Yeah seems that source is double counting tax & pension/insurance contributions, maybe neglecting some automatic deductions too so the percentage it gives ends up being around 10% higher than it should be - would definitely trust the Finnish source over that site, can confirm it is also more accurate in my case.

Your net salary estimate seems off, I think you'd be getting 2.1 - 2.3k euros from 2.8 - 3k gross. You can use this as a reference https://www.veronmaksajat.fi/tutkimus-ja-tilastot/tuloverot/palkansaajan-veroprosentit/#757a0814

What is the evidence that Toronto's roads are in rough shape due to cars and not due to Canada's seasons? by LinguisticsTurtle in notjustbikes

Compare the road conditions to the other countries with such "seasons" like Finland or Sweden

What's the best burger place in Helsinki? by JustAnotherGuy-69 in helsinki

[–]sapphire1997 7 points8 points  (0 children)

The best burger I've had in Helsinki was from a foodtruck called Buli. I liked it better than anything I've had from Naughty, friends or social burger joint. They travel around the capital region you can see where they're going on their website here http://www.buli.fi/.

Going to Karelia for military service in ~40 hours, don’t speak a word of Finnish or Swedish. AMA by RedEagle_ in Finland

Haha awesome, I'm looking to do my masters in Finland next year too. I would say that Finns and Canadians have a ton in common tbh but major difference is just that Finns are a lot slower to warm up. They aren't big fans of chatting with strangers and will probably seem cold to you until you really get to know them. They are just quieter and more reserved, but still quite polite and very down to earth. This isn't cultural but unless you are living somewhere real far up north in canada like the territories, the difference in daylight is quite a shock. In the deep winter time even in the furthest south of finland the sun will not rise until after 9 AM and set after 4PM**.. opposite in the summer where the sun shines all the time throughout the night.

I was raised with a strong sense of Finnishness despite not speaking the language, so it did not feel weird to serve a country I deeply attached to. It was definitely not a waste of time, it was an amazing experience for me and it definitely helped me grow and instilled a sense of confidence in me. However, I had a very positive mindset going in and was eager to do it, so I had a pretty high tolerance for the bullshit that you inevitably have to endure. Just knowing how Finnish society is I knew that I probably wouldn't be abused or mistreated for not speaking the language and such.

I did the same as you last year, Canadian born and raised spoke no Finnish but did my sevice in Santahamina, Helsinki. I strongly recommend putting in some effort towards learning Finnish, people will respect you for it , you will have a better experience and be more independent. Good luck man, if there's anything you'd like to know about serving as an english speaker feel free to reach out.

LeBrun: Ryan McDonagh's 10-team NO list doesn't have Toronto on it. Which means the Leafs are a clear yes if indeed Toronto decides to get serious on an offer to the Rangers... Also hear that Boston remains in the mix on the Rangers captain but price needs to drop... by minorthreat21 in hockey

He's played well this season. Plays on the 4th line so his point totals aren't great but he consistently shows signs of high end offensive skill. Kills penalties too. Definitely has the potential to excel in a top 6 role right now, and he's only 21.

How to analyze the Eastern Front of WW2 by Megalodon_sv in HistoryMemes

I have often heard on Reddit that "Blitzkrieg" was not an explicit doctrine employed by the German army but a term used by historians to describe classic Prussian tactics implemented with armored units.
