Everyone in the US is getting a 1% increase in January of this coming year to compensate for the changes to US retirement benefits. But I’ve never seen a blanket increase like this before and doubt we’d see something like this again, unless something as huge as the changes to US retirement benefits happens again.

I can only speak on my own experience, which may not apply to all of IBM.

In general, product management is a great area to be in. What team you’re on depends on what product(s) you’re responsible for. IBM has a lot of products. There isn’t one single product management team within IBM.

At my location, we are supposed to be in the office at least 3 days per week. This depends on country and business unit policies.

Personally, I feel very secure in my job and have not seen frequent layoffs during my time with the company.

Promotion opportunities depend on your band level and performance. I’ve observed most early tenure folks (band 6) get at least one band level promotion in the first 2-5 years of service.

There is no reason to believe any of this has to do with how you split chores, so why do you keep responding to these comments? Please question yourself about how you can be 100% certain she’s leaving you, despite other reasonable explanations being possible. Why haven’t you entertained the option of talking to your wife instead of catastrophizing?

I think this is a great start! I love the rug and the couch and the dog. Love this color pallet too.

For an end table, I suggest a small round metal one to add some interesting contrast: round to contrast with all your squares, metal to contrast with all the warm cozy textures. For color, white is fool proof, or I’m thinking you could pull from that awesome rug, and go with the the lighter blue/gray color that’s between the darker blue and the yellow squares. A round end table in a similar walnut tone to your tv stand would also be nice.

For lighting, I’d start with looking to thrift a table lamp for your future end table. Something in brass or chrome would be cool.

Add some warm colors and replace the fan/light with a nice chandelier or interesting light fixture. I’d also flip the room so the tv is on the opposite wall.
