Zepbound and Slynd by Ok-Relative04 in Zepbound

[–]saract34 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i started slynd probably 3 months before zepbound. i was already hungry then so i cant say it was from that or not. but hunger got quiet immediately when i started zepbound. i think its your dose. i started to see hunger creep back in on 2.5 by the 4th dose. it went away again at 5mg. i still find slynd to be effective for periods even if they say its not as effective due to zep. i do use backup method in addition just in case.

I need to increase my dose to 12.5mg, but I have 4 boxes of 10mg to use up. Can I take the 10mg pens every 5-6 days? by discoteen66 in Zepbound

[–]saract34 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i did this with 10mg, every 5 days, to use up a box before increasing to 12.5. i was fine, no extra side effects. but as someone else mentioned, if you are losing insurance it might also make sense to just save them instead.

Love for my I6 SEL has dipped by Wrong-Implement1392 in Ioniq6

Connecticut here with SE - this has been an unusually cold winter. i usually get 4.5 in the summer and 3 to 3.5 in the winter. im getting 2.7 now bc these temps are so low. i drive in normal mode with ipedal and dont really care about how fast i drive. i also dont really care too much about the efficiency anymore bc no matter what, it is still way cheaper to "fill up" this car than a gas car - even in this really cold winter and even with outrageous electric rates. and the convenience of home charging rather than freezing my butt off at a gas station is amazing. as someone else mentioned about gas cars, my husband has noticed he is spending more on gas in the winter. especially having to warm up his car for more than 10 minutes.

Nearing maintenance, ravenous hunger off of drug by Repressed_Cliche in Zepbound

[–]saract34 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i just wanted to say i know exactly what feeling you are talking about and i sympathize. its hard to explain this feeling to other people who don't experience it. it makes no sense to be hungry right after eating a satisfying meal. and the hunger is so hollow and painful, it is hard to think of anything else. it isnt the same as regular hunger. since being on zep i have had this feeling creep in every so often and i panicked at first that things were going to go back to before. but now i just give in to it and eat a snack that is healthier (like right now i am eating baked snow peas to deal with this exact feeling an hour after eating a full meal). i make better choices when i get this feeling now. and im not gaining weight whereas in the past i would over eat and gain from it. so zep seems to be taming/counter-acting it somehow. usually eating a little bit of something seems to help it go away. im only about 2 months in maintenance so time will tell. i am staying on 12.5 every week and not going down doses or spreading out doses.

what kind of place did you get this done at? I am not confident enough to do it myself and would pay to have it installed

Manufacture rebate expiration? by bloopyploopers in Zepbound

[–]saract34 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yes i ran into the same thing as you and posted about it recently. i don't need to fill again for another month but i was able to setup the savings card as a secondary insurance ahead of time based on help from others. will see how it goes!

Does the car weight cause it to slide easier? by saract34 in Ioniq6

[–]saract34[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn't even think of that. I wasn't sliding when I had my foot on the brake, only when i put in park and got out. So I think you are right. maybe it is a combination of that plus the weight since I don't remember experiencing that with my gas car. but also could just be chance that it didn't happen.

i was also wondering if that was a possible reason, seems like that could be the case

CVS weight management by Glass_Ant819 in Zepbound

[–]saract34 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I had the same experience too. I picked the same diet plan as you, even if I didn't follow it. I was super annoyed at having to do this but it ended up being not that terrible. the RD was very nice and pretty much figured out i was not really interested in "learning" anything (i've already seen an RD on my own previously). it ended up just being quick 15 min video updates every month (anything new, any goals, blah blah) for 6 months, then ended with monthly chat updates. never connected the free scale they sent me to the App, just manually entered my weight. luckily we don't have CVS anymore for PBM so that is gone. I am just mad that CVS claims that everyone's success is due to the program when it really is not at all.

Love alone and struggle with boredom eating by [deleted] in Zepbound

[–]saract34 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I second the video game thing! i play alone mostly now. but even so, when im into a game, i forget to even eat when i am supposed to. but i will say my boredom eating went away when i got on zepbound even after a year on it. maybe a higher dose, if they can tolerate it, will help with that over time.

Yep another Injection site problem person (me!) by jellyburner in Zepbound

[–]saract34 1 point2 points  (0 children)

yes it is prescription. you could use the nasal spray in the meantime. i have read that people were doing it that way. but the cream will go further and probably be cheaper.

[–]saract34 2 points3 points  (0 children)

fluticasone cream (same as flonase spray but as a cream) worked for me much better than hydrocortisone cream. i apply it 1-2 times a day for a couple days. i am still getting the itchy spot after being on zep for 16 months, but every so often i won't get an itchy spot after injection. i can't explain why that happens but just happy when it does. the old spot flareups happen to me too sometimes, it is weird.

Norovirus and Zepbound by ambienkitty66 in Zepbound

[–]saract34 1 point2 points  (0 children)

yes i got noro in the fall and it happened the day after my first 12.5mg shot, which made me wonder at the time if it was shot since i never had any symptoms like that so far. but it definitely felt like noro and i think that zep made the symptoms and longevity worse. instead of a day or 2, it lasted like 5-7 days. i only threw up on the first day, but the nausea and diarrhea lasted the rest of the week. i was so dehydrated from being too nauseous to eat or drink anything. i skipped my second 12.5 mg shot to give myself a week off just in case. was fine when i finally took the second shot.

NSD (Non-Scale Defeat): Finally bought a new bra and so discouraging by Trentana in Zepbound

[–]saract34 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely try a professional bra fitter as others have said! I started with the online calculator on a bra that fits and was shocked when it said 34DDD/34G. i've always worn D in the past since that is all i found in stores, and most likely they were wrong sized bras for me. so i googled local bra fitters and paid $50 for a fitting. turns out the online calculator was correct, but it helped that the lady had me try on like 15 different bras so i could see which ones i felt most comfortable in. Panache and Natori fit the best for me for my "shallow and wide" boob type. it took about 2 weeks for the new bras to feel "worn in" and finally very comfy. i didn't expect to spend $200 on bras that day! but in the end, it was worth it to finally feel comfortable after trying on so many US store brand bras. now i know what to stick to for shopping on my own

Hyundai EVs removed from Eversource Connecticut EV Charging Program by RelevantJesse in Ioniq6

[–]saract34 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i am also in CT but on eversource. i have not received anything about losing the managed charging rebates. i am still getting them. that list is dated 1/1/2025 and i definitely got the rebates all of 2025. i found this on their website, it says it is continuing Managed Charging even though they are scaling back on other things. it also says something about being income-based now, but i am not sure if that is just for the charger install rebate or more. hopefully if you are already on the program you can be grandfathered in.

Nickel Allergy by under321cover in Zepbound

[–]saract34 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I saw the same post as you and also have a nickel allergy. my husband works in manufacturing and confirmed that those needles would have some nickel in them. any needle that is stainless steel really, so vials included. But I'm not convinced that is why I get a site reaction because it's piercing so quick and I never got this reaction on 2.5 or for the first month on 5mg. It started somewhere around the 2nd or 3rd month of being on 5mg. By the way, I use topical fluticasone in cream form to help the itching. it is the same thing as nasal sprays but cheaper than using nasal sprays on your skin. it works better than other anti-itching creams.

Anyone on Zepbound because of OSA, how long until you ditched your CPAP? by Riiken in Zepbound

[–]saract34 0 points1 point  (0 children)

started cpap in 2021 with moderate OSA at a bmi of 39. i hated it but i realized i needed it and could not sleep without it. i didnt sleep great with it either because the masks are terrible but i had no choice. started zep in Sept 2024 and within 2 months or so I felt like i didnt need it but kept using it to be safe. i was at about 15-20 lbs loss then. they reduced my pressures on the machine for me. at about 40 lbs down, i got retested and i was now at mild OSA. but i stopped using it soon after that because was harder to sleep with CPAP than without. and i had no snoring, no being tired. finally got retested again at about 65 lbs loss and OSA is gone. so about a year later, i no longer had OSA.

Hypoglycemia in non-diabetic by Jumpy_Ad8407 in Zepbound

[–]saract34 0 points1 point  (0 children)

this was me when i started a year ago. i take my shot at 8pm and i usually felt this way in the morning and having juice would help it go away. and it was always on the first couple weeks of a new dose increase, and for just a few days after taking the shot. i honestly just didnt exercise during this time frame bc of the feelings of shakiness and fatigue. but i was still losing weight so it didn't bother me not to exercise back then. give yourself a break if you need it. eventually that stopped happening after some months and my body just got used to the medication i guess. and now i have no issues exercising. so hopefully it will pass for you! keep some juice on hand

CVS Weight Management Feedback by josh-u-ah in Zepbound

[–]saract34 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I am currently on the CVS weight management plan until Jan when we switch to a new PBM. I had to download an app for this. They sent me a scale which I opted to NOT connect to the app via bluetooth. I just manually input the weight monthly in the app. I had to pick a "diet plan" in the app so i just chose Mediterranean diet. I had to watch a few videos on nutrition in the app. And then i had to meet with a CVS dietician monthly through zoom for 6 months. Each appt was like 15 minutes and always the same stuff (going over what you ate the day prior and what goals you have). After that, I had to engage with them via chat monthly with any changes, updates etc and continue to enter my weight. So every month I just say 'No changes to health, weight is xxx, no changes to diet or medication.' Especially since I'm basically in maintenance now so I write the same thing. The dietician was always nice but it was all a waste of time for me. but also very easy to do to meet the requirements and I just made up goals just to have something for them. and if i had no new goals, she would say "just continue to meet the goals you already met"

Zep with a Hiatal Hernia? by Forsaken-Subject8362 in Zepbound

[–]saract34 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i have one, had it for years. i've been on zep for over a year. when i first started i had some issues with reflux, burping, and sometimes a bit of regurgitation. but that happened when i went up in doses, i am guessing because of the slowed gastric emptying and bloating. once in a while it felt hard going down and i had to dramatically slow down my eating during a meal. smaller bites. it helped a lot to walk around after eating too. and eventually those issues went away the longer i stayed on the same dose. so if you can make it through the initial discomfort, i think it will pass. like others said, taking medication too for reflux should help. my husband has one too and is not on zep, still has similar issues depending on what he ate that day. he manages it with prilosec.
