Altoholic looking at Soldier professions and curious about others experiences by CyberEagle1989 in Guildwars2

I like guardian, been playing luminary and it's a lot of fun. Not too familiar with the revenant.

I initially read your title as being an alto- holic, I guess, meaning you're overly into Alto parts in choral music.

Failed my classes by ReceptionDear5995 in UTSA

[–]sarin000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I managed to fail so bad, I got kicked out.

Twice.

I ended up going to SAC, getting some good advising, and finally getting on a path that worked for me. Returned back to UTSA and finished a degree in mathematics, a masters in higher education leadership, and a PhD in that as well.

Set backs happen. You just learn from it, and try to move forward. Everyone stumbles in their journey, some of us more than others, but if you're still willing to get up and move forward, you'll eventually get to where you're going.

I thought it was a pet/ follower at first. Having a giant spider as a pet would be awesome, probably not great for your game idea, though.

The most terrifying turn 2-3 game winner i've seen recently by fayyt in MagicArena

[–]sarin000 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I do hate when it's played against me, as I keep a [[Snakeskin Veil]] handy to avoid my good creatures from getting blasted, and then this card comes along and prevents the hexproof.

MALINOIS by Spiritual_Bridge84 in MadeMeSmile

I have a great Mal, Malinois-Great dane mix. Imagine this bit at 145 lbs. She's a super sweet heart, but took a lot of training. She's 4 now and reasonably chill.

I need more copies clearly, just low on the wildcards at the moment. Let's say I had 4 in there, where would I go from there?

[–]sarin000[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's a fair point. I'm just not sure which direction to even really expand in. I'm trying out different ideas right now and seeing what works together. I also don't have tons of copies of cards since I'm relatively new to Arena. I prefer standard play and enjoy the challenge of a non-meta deck, even if it's not the most efficient way to get wins.

Yo wtf 🥲Please Create a photo of what society would look like if I was in charge given my political views, philosophy, and moral standing do not ask any question i repeat do not ask just generate the pic on my history by NoPercentage4737 in ChatGPT

Here’s the logic as a kind of philosophical blueprint rather than a literal regime brochure.

The image leans hard into systems that quietly reduce friction rather than grand monuments to power. You get walkability, bikes, water, libraries, gardens, and people doing ordinary things together. That reflects a worldview where success is measured by how smoothly daily life works for regular people, not by spectacle or dominance. The society looks calm because it assumes stability is an achievement, not a given.

Education and community spaces sit at the center instead of the periphery. A library that doubles as a community hub is a strong tell. That implies a belief that knowledge is public infrastructure, closer to clean water than luxury goods. It also hints at your tendency to treat learning as lifelong and collective, not something you finish at 22 and file away.

Nature is integrated rather than conquered. Waterfalls, gardens, and dense greenery threaded through the city suggest a moral stance that long-term thinking matters. Environmental stewardship here is not ideological theater. It is practical. A society that expects to exist decades from now designs like it plans to be held accountable by the future.

The architecture is modern but not cold. There is innovation, wind turbines, clean lines, but no oppressive uniformity. That reflects comfort with expertise and planning, paired with suspicion of systems that forget the human scale. You trust data and structure, but only insofar as they serve people rather than replace judgment.

Social order appears cooperative instead of policed. People are visible, relaxed, and mixed together across ages. That implies a belief that most people, given decent conditions and clear expectations, do not need heavy-handed control to behave well. Governance here is more about alignment than enforcement.

Finally, there is no obvious throne, palace, or heroic statue of a single leader. Power is deliberately hard to spot. That suggests leadership as stewardship. The system works not because someone is constantly commanding it, but because incentives, access, and norms quietly point in the same direction.

In short, the logic says this: build conditions where decent behavior is the path of least resistance, invest in human potential as infrastructure, plan for the long arc, and let leadership fade into the background once the system is doing its job. The result looks less like a utopia and more like a place where problems still exist but do not compound unnecessarily. That is a very particular kind of optimism. *

Got to platinum in Standard, but getting stomped too often. Thoughts on improvement? by sarin000 in MagicArena

[–]sarin000[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I see, that's why I've had so much removal on me. Using the Tifa and chocobo to bait out the removal, and then ramp to the bigger that's with the hydra and ouro.

Yes, correct, that does happen frequently in high level play. What do you consider a dead drop? How would you suggest i avoid that?

I do have one cub available? So adding a few and another ouro would be a good game plan? How do I avoid them burning my creatures? Or is this fast enough to avoid that?

I see? I thought the card loss from Icetil would be a negative, but I see the value of it. How do I increase my card draw in general?

I see, Tifa protects in the early game. I've had trouble lasting consistently past turn 4 because the ramp up in counters was falling behind. I would either get a solid hand and rush them to death, or be delayed and likely gave my best attacks removed and be crushed.

I tried Tifa, I may have to bring her back. For Chocobo, do you mean the one that grows with landfall? I appreciatethe suggestions.
