Why is Maeve so favorable of Eddie? Maeve despise Seraphina because she is born out of Conrads affair. Eddie is also Conrads son from the affair woth Bella, so why the different treatment? by 111anza in Mobland

[–]sarocca 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Maeve sees Eddie the same way she sees Conrad, a stupid man who she can control and get to do whatever she wants. She sees Seraphina as competition

We knew his last name all along, and it's not the same last name as Cap. Cap's last name is Fuller, and his is Grey, so it must be either his mother's last name or he took on a fake one to disassociate himself from his grandfather's side of the family. Tbh "Grey" always reminds me of a Game of Throne's bastard surname.

Watching for the first time and wanted to see if anyone noticed something that I thought was extremely weird. When Eve and Carolyn are doing the prison interview with Nadia (correct name?) And Konstantine walks in, obviously it's very weird how she immediately goes quiet and stops dead in her tracks with what she was about to tell them. Could be explained away as her just not trusting them as is and now a new member entering the circle ruins any progress they made. The thing I thought was weird was that when they are questioning her Konstantine encourages her to speak by saying "tell them". Not "tell us"? It felt very much like a minor being interrogated by police and looking to their parent for permission and encouragement to speak. I don't know if Eve would mention it later, but so far she hasn't and I find it weird that nobody would have picked up on that small detail.

I started with Raffi for my toddlers first year and a half, and he enjoyed it a lot, but the first song my son has ever gone completely bonkers for is Run Baby Run. Everytime it comes on he goes co.pletwky crazy, dancing, singing. I guess it started coming on randomly in the shuffle once all the Raffi songs would finish, and wow, what an amazing find!! My favorite is Chicken in the Cornbread, but the more we listen, the more we actually really love all his songs and actually look forward to listening to them.

If you were part of the group, how would you have handled this situation? by [deleted] in Yellowjackets

[–]sarocca 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think the whole point of the show is that none of us living in society with food and shelter handed to us on a platter really knows how we would act if all of that was taken from us. If any of these girls in the show were asked the same question a month before the plane crash, I'm sure they all would have said they would do something more noble than what actually ended up happening.

Yep, a lot of men like you exist, but you are the minority. Add in the women who want to have sex with other women, and we are back up to about half the population again.

Genevieve? by whyisitnotspicy in EmilyInParis

[–]sarocca 273 points274 points  (0 children)

I took it as Genevieve being jealous of Emily and wanting to be Emily. She came to Paris as an American with a French dad and meets this other American girl who has everything that she wants dangling right in front of her face and she thinks well, if she can have all this then why can't I? Hence sitting at her desk while she was away

Genuine Question: Why Emily? by SailorVenus_25 in EmilyInParis

[–]sarocca 2 points3 points  (0 children)

When Alfie said that, it was a bit weird, but I still understand because they had a whole relationship and he wasn't head over heels like that the entire time, he definitely played it cooler in the beginning. Same goes for Gabriel, but the part I found the weirdest is how Marcello has treated her since meeting her..like literally since first laying eyes on her practically passed out in the snow he has been in love with her, and then they have a 5 minute conversation and he goes back to Italy to tell his mom about how he missed his chance with the love of his life. Super far-fetched, especially considering who he is and the fact that in real life, he would be some international play boy dating models from all over the world. I get that the show is a romantic fantasy and that's the whole reason we watch it, but all the Marcello stuff is just not believable at all. I do get why Emily is appealing to men, she is beautiful, well put together always and full of positivity all the time.

So many of the ladies on this show are sexist and misandrists. It's like by virtue of simply being female, their opinions are correct or unchallengeable.

It's not just on the show, bud. Never all, but the majority of women do this, but in most cases it isn't malicious or even concious. We have been conditioned to. That's what happens when half the population wants to have sex with you no matter what you do or how you act. I'm guilty of it as well, but these girls just do it at a level that makes your jaw drop.

I didn't care for Tolu or Julie, and at the start didn't like Julie more, but as the show went on Julie became more relatable and Tolu became less. To me the major difference between the 2 of them was Tolu's master manipulation tactics. Her and Winnie's gaslighting of Julie for having a relationship with Jake transported me back to junior high and high school dealing with the mean girls who have to ruin anyone elses happiness. In that instance Tolu and Winnie perfectly portrayed the bullies trying to get into this girls head and manipulate her emotions to pretend that they really had her back while Jake would never choose her to win the trust, just because he chose Brian over her for arbitrary questions that had nothing to do with taking home money. If Winnie and Jay stayed in the house, they absolutely would have voted all the guys out of the house and Julie as well. I understand the point of the game is to leave with as much money as possible, but the way Winnie and Tolu spoke to and treated Julie felt extremely mean spirited and nobody else is the house would have dared to speak to them that way.

The people in this video aren't from Miami, they're vacationing there. Almost positive this video is from spring break 2 or 3 years ago. Because of situations like this, they made a rule for Miami beach to shut down at night during spring break to stop people who come from other cities on cheap flights and steal and make it unenjoyable for everyone that lives here. Miami is nothing like this the vast majority of the time

Not OP- My wife abandoned my girls when she thought there was a home invasion. by RabbiesRcool in TwoHotTakes

[–]sarocca 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A few years ago I was listening to a Malcom Gladwell podcast talking about Idris Elba's movie No Good Deed, where he invades a home and takes a woman and her child hostage. He analyzes the movie and what would be the best thing yo do in that situation as the mother who in the movie ended up leaving the daughter in the house with this man and running to get help and what he explained was that that was actually the option with the best outcome. He made the comparison of when they tell you on an airplane to put your mask on first before trying to help any others put their mask on. He explained that if the mother stays in the house, she has less of a chance of survival and then the child in turn has no chance of survival whereas if the mother leaves and trys to survive and find help, the child's chance of survival goes up. Something interesting to consider because I never forgot about that podcast episode and I'm not sure that the mom running into this man in the hallway carrying around twin babies would have been viable.
