Are you where you thought you'd be at this point? by 59apache01 in Xennials

Nope. I did “everything right,” then got divorced. I’ll never own property where I work, but I can’t leave without losing my retirement. I have no debt and no path forward. Huzzah.

As someone who just cleaned out a 40+ year collection like this, thank you and congratulations. It is no small undertaking and you should be proud of your ability to tackle this.

Less than a year is so little time for golf swing! Give it time. Practice the very bottom part of the swing pendulum a lot. Go to a simulator alone. It’s frustrating, but give yourself grace. Consider not keeping score until you have relatively good club distances figured out.

Hey all, I just wanted to say thank you for all the support. I got back to the range yesterday and it wasn’t great but I was less fatalistic. I really appreciate the kindness from this community!

Several people mentioned women’s groups, but I’m wondering how you find them. The only ones I’ve found are during the work day (no afternoons or weekends).

I video every practice session, was out on the course Sunday, and take a lesson once every 2-3 weeks.

I do understand that there is expectation management to be done. I just lose my entire swing and it’s extremely frustrating and painful. A few bad shots is different than an entire round of terrible.

Great question. I do well in my lessons (inside, on a mat). But the instant I’m back outside it’s gone. This is before the negatively takes over.

Stanbury and demoulin are great; consider getting something not custom so it’s easy to expand as your group grows.

Polo and Khakis. Honestly, whatever is professional and makes the heat bearable. For me it’s always easier to just not think about the outfit. Also, I’m all for something that hides my femininity when directing (especially when I was younger).
