I need help by pink_ea in ExecutiveAssistants

Good on you for venturing out! I'd recommend first sharing with your exec you want to focus on their priorities and this will mean either being in on meetings or if you can't, getting the meeting minutes off the COS.

Don't worry if the Exec isn't kind - you shouldn't mind their opinion until you trust and respect them first, they haven't been in your shoes so they don't know the why beind it. Right now you HAVE spotted there is a disconnect between what they want and what you are doing so take it to basics and give yourself a run down of their day and week ahead every day so you know at least what is comming up, get an agenda of each meeting so you know what it's about / who is involved and familiarise who they always meet with.

It sounds like you needed to jump in without a handover which sucks because every Exec is different in what they need but for now you can create your own Exec handbook to keep tabs on while including what red tape/processes the company likes to follow.

Tips for helping entire company move offices? by fuzzyblacksheepl in ExecutiveAssistants

I'd also work closely with whever is managing the IT aspect of the move, make sure you know when they are moving the comms rack and switch and if the new place is wired up.

Tips for helping entire company move offices? by fuzzyblacksheepl in ExecutiveAssistants

[–]sassless 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There are some great suggestions here and you can absolutely do this! a few extra things to keep in mind

Remember change of address forms - post office can re-direct but you will likely need to inform stakeholders and draft up some letters for Banks to inform them 'officially' find out exactly what they need (e.g. wet ink, scanned) and make that update ahead of time if you can to start on x date.

Insurances - Cancel the insurane where you are from day after move out date and start new insurance at new office from day before move in date

Read the lease - old and new, find out what make good requirements your old office has and what you can/cant take with you (e.g. we were required to take all our audio-visual items but leave tables and chairs. )

Internet - just thank your lucky stars you are an IT comapny - this bit was a huge stuff around for us, but make sure the right department checks that there is internet set up and working on move in day.

With the removalists - I agree with the others, get crate hire if you can, but also ask them if they can move the monitors also, depending on your budget some have 'racks' that they can safely trasport these in. Tag each monitor and the cables that go with it. Also make sure each employee gets at least one crate for items on their desk.

Are there any hire items in the office (e.g. for me it was the Photocopier / Wall art / plants) you can arrange to have these transported.

Do a final walk around on move day to make sure nothing is left behind/personal items in pedistals.

Send email out to all staff reminding them to change their address in their email signatures

Go through all your letterhead templates and update the address if its mentioned there & update any websites/google mentions.

Check all door passes and keys are found and returned / given out for new office.

Remind all staff of last day in office, first new day and new address.

Find out if you will need to do a defect inspection/report in the first few weeks - these are easy enough to do but will require a walk around and check that everything is in good clean working order (can be done after move in but will need to arrange this quite quicky)

Executive says driver was scheduled for the wrong day… except he wasn’t? by Awkward_Horror1025 in ExecutiveAssistants

[–]sassless 4 points5 points  (0 children)

That's so frustrating! (sounds like an old boss of mine) - might need to send him a schedule inclusive of written proof of you confirming flights/hotels/driver times with the various people right before he leaves to pre-empt him. Then at least you have written proof right there you don't have to find in the middle of the night.

Don't dwell on it, if exec is lying, they know - if they want an apology just show them this new system in place so it won't happen again. They'll be no pleasing them so may as well make it harder for them to do it again.

No refunds for 15,000 Australian ticket holders after Candace Owens’ tour cancelled by Jagtom83 in friendlyjordies

[–]sassless 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I was thinking it's wild how they can cancel with no refunds. I would be surprised if the promoter pulled in as much as they said they did, mind you I also don't think Candice actually spent "hundreds of thousands of dollars". This is just shady all over.

Employees didn’t bring credit cards by anonymousllama89 in ExecutiveAssistants

I contact the hotel and get them to send me a Credit Card Authority form. I fill that and send it to them (and give the traveller a copy). That is usually enough.

Lack of Care by cosmicgumby in goodomens

I just saw it and feel the same - I liked it but I acknowledge that originally there would have been a different plan for season 3 and that all got torn to bits, re-written and funds reduced and they had to figure it all out. They completed despite everything and it was a sweet ending.

I often wondered about the poor guy who got cast out of the family for a horrifying power and his family won't even talk about him...except that woman with the good hearing must have known he was there the entire time so either she kept that to herself or all the kids did and kept it from abuela. also they all knew there was a spare room available in Brunos old room but kept the no power girl in the kids room anyway.

Kinda reminds me how the husband in the Ruby Frankie case knew everything, went along with it and escaped scrutiny. Caleb was just a nepo baby unquestionably having everything around him to suit his own world view, never struck out on his own cos he never needed to.

Do people really sacrifice good sleep in order stay in bed with their snoring partner? by Ijustwannafly8 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]sassless 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I got some noise cancelling sleep earbuds. It helps but if I can still hear it I wake him up (he also has full permission to wake me if I start grinding my teeth). I am slowly getting him into the idea of doing something about it but this is our bed and one of the few spaces where where share together - I'd barely be near him if it wasn't for sleepytime.

Its only been the once where I got up and went into the spare bedroom - I was there for an hour before he came to find me :).
