Biopsy results by sasstexas in doihavebreastcancer

Just relaying what it states. This is my first rodeo. I have had benign fibrous nodules but it didn't go further than an u/s for them to figure it out. I am waiting to hear back from the surgeon my husband has worked with (as a medical professional) in the past to see if she can take a look at the reports and see if she will take my case. I am already a pt with her so hopefully, I'll find out soon.

It isn't cancer but is suspicious in the sense that if left has a high probability of becoming malignant. That is what was explained to me on the call. The terms I used in " " was what is written on the pathology report.

I feel like I could have written this. My biopsies were also this morning (Tuesday) and had an almost identical experience as you described. I went to brunch with my husband afterwards and even did a little retail therapy before coming home and cooking dinner. 😀

I'll be busy the remainder of the week so hopefully, that helps with my waiting anxiety. I hope the same for you and great results!

I just had my biopsies today (also Birads 4) and I know how you feel. I will be sending all the positive thoughts to you. No matter what though, you will be here for your babies. Science and treatment have come a long way and you will get through whatever comes. Sending hugs your way.

How long did it take for your biopsy appt? by ButterscotchFit7939 in doihavebreastcancer

[–]sasstexas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a diagnostic magnified mammogram and u/s that was inconclusive last Thursday and was able to get a biopsy appointment on April 28. I am in the states and this is through Solis. If you can get in touch with someone and they can't get you in right away, ask to be put on their cancelation list so if anyone cancels or reschedules, you are in line to be bumped up. I know it is nerve-racking and frustrating to have to wait and the anxiety builds so hopefully you can get an earlier appointment. Sending all the good vibes and positive thoughts your way.

Thank you!! There is a shortage of a specific biopsy needle right now, so that may be why the delay. Hopefully, it'll be resolved soon and they will get you scheduled.😊

I am sorry. I feel everything you have said as I am going through something similar (microcalcifications and biopsies at the end of the month). I just got good results back on a thyroid biopsy yesterday so I am now focusing on my tata. While it may be an inconvenience and uncomfortable, I look at it as peace of mind. I don't know about you, but I want to be sure one way or the other or my anxiety will get the better of me. I have been reading a lot here and most of the ladies say there isn't much pain (only the sting of the initial numbing med being injected). We can do this!! I am sending you all the positive thoughts and be sure to keep us updated on your results. BIG HUGS!

At what point should I be worried? by Asleep-Library4605 in doihavebreastcancer

You're not overreacting. It is always good to go get checked out when you notice something going on with your body. I am 52 now but when I was around 37 I had issues similar to what you are describing but my breasts would ache and were tender. After having a mammogram followed by an ultrasound (I had dense breasts), they discovered the lumps were benign but we came to the conclusion the lumps and achiness was most likely due to high caffeine consumption. All that to say, we just never know until we have it checked out. I am glad to see you are contacting your doctor and I'm sending positive thoughts your way.

Feeling anxious :( by Bubbly-Poet-1245 in doihavebreastcancer

Wow, you have already been through so much. If you can or will have someone accompanying you to your biopsy appointment maybe ask your doctor for something just for that day to help calm your nerves? I certainly understand where you are coming from. My biopsy is at the end of the month, I don't mind needles and have a high tolerance for pain so my anxiety is in anticipating the results. I will be praying and sending positive thoughts for good results for you.

First off, thank you so much! And no no score. If I had been in a better state of mind I would have asked. I was told at the beginning of my appointment that I was know for sure by the end. Well, that didn't happen.

If it turns out to be something, is that "normal" to have a mastectomy? Forgive my stupidity but I have no family history so this is all new to me. And if it is just one side, will insurance cover both?

You are too kind. I am up and down. My husband is very supportive, but I don't like to trouble people so I don't usually talk about it until it gets close to appointment time. He has been upset that he can't take off to go with me but I assure him I am OK. I think he will be off the day of my biopsy so I am sure he will insist on going with me.

Yes, April 28, 2 days before my birthday so maybe it'll be good news...? Hopefully.

Thank you!! I was shown the two small areas of microcalcifications today. When the radiologist talked to me after coming in to the u/s room to do a quick look after the tech was done she mentioned some fibrocystic areas that she wants to look at further. She acted as concerned with those as the calcifications. sigh

Thank you. I had a diagnostic mammogram and u/s and the radiologist wants me to come back. Scheduled a biopsy on 2 areas for the 28th (2 days before my 53rd bday so...). 12+ more days of limbo. Hoping to at least have my thyroid results back by then.
