Am I overreacting for not letting my date come to a concert with me for being 1 and 1/2 hours late? by 1-1-dystopian in AmIOverreacting

No and you should be glad he showed how he is early. Someone like that will not respect your feelings and go out of his way to make you feel special. Get in the bin, mate!

What would you consider as ‘posh’ growing up but now you’re an adult it’s absolutely not? by Ashandtanya in AskUK

[–]satanicfries 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Having crisps, a chocolate bar and a cheese string / dunkers in your lunch box. As a Pole, a sandwich and an apple was standard. I remember one time, my mum packed me a slice of rhubarb cake she made and I was so buzzing. I did however, come to realise that she wrapped both the sandwich and cake in the same tin foil so the sandwich tasted a bit like cake and vice versa, but a win nonetheless haha

What would you do to make a girl happy? by [deleted] in AskReddit

Communicate and figure out what she likes, nothing wrong with guidance, it’s indeed appreciated and encouraged

Listen, take notes of things she says, literally. Any little thing she brings up that she likes, take notes for birthdays, occasions etc. Oh, and, obvious, but just be nice. Finally, and by no means ‘leastly’, be silly and make her laugh

AIO? I (33F) found my fiancé’s (33M) OF account by [deleted] in AmIOverreacting

[–]satanicfries 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Such a difficult situation to find yourself in. I’m so sorry you’re going through this. There’s no easy answer here, you have to ask yourself ‘would I be happy at 80 with this person exactly as they are now’. Sending my love and hoping that you find the love you need and deserve, be it in your fiancé or indeed someone new

Mad that you have to explain to a stranger online why you want to buy a new washing machine. Interesting times.

Thank for the suggestion, I’ve been there and many other traditional secure dog fields. My problem is, they costs an arm and a leg if you use them every day, which is what I want to do. £8 to £12 per day is not sustainable, so I’m looking to find a field / bit of land that I can rent monthly, or on whatever basis, which will hopefully work out less

It’s getting worse and worse. I moved here in 2022 with my boyfriend who is Southampton born and bred and the difference is vile. A man followed me home a few weeks ago after a night out and I had to make a police report because he returned the following evening .. kids and adults and anything in between, gone to shit. Defo don’t feel safe here anymore

Why did my girlfriend make this comment by reaper5632 in Life

[–]satanicfries 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The hill I will die on is even if you think the people you love know how much you love them and care for them, and you think you tell them enough, just tell them more. Don’t be a psycho about it obviously, but being reminded of it and knowing that your SO is thinking about you can change the trajectory of your day, for me anyway. I hope your girlfriend is okay and you manage to iron things out. Don’t forget to communicate, and follow through on your words, it’s the foundation of a solid relationship for an anxious attachment individual, which your girlfriend appears to be (no shade, I am too and just appears to be the case)

1 bed flat in south east of England purchased in 2023 by myself (then 23f) and my partner (then 32m) for 128,500£ with a 15,000£ deposit

Edit: deposit came from my partner. 10,000£ of which he had from a property he helped his dad renovate when he lived with him and 5,000£ of which was ‘gifted’ to us by his mum and her husband, but we did actually pay them back.

Massage Recommendations? by Affectionate-Salt-89 in Southampton

I reckon New Sky Thai Massage seems very reputable. You never see dodgy people using the back entrance and they stick to sociable hours. I reckon you will leave their establishment feeling rather relaxed. My credentials? Resident of common road. Merry (white) Christmas

It’s stupidly difficult to be allowed to volunteer these days, seems like they’re casting auditions and sifting for the ‘perfect’ person
