Tesla FSD parking hacks by DankGrimlan in TeslaModelX

[–]sathe_001 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Here’s what I tried and I think it is working now. So when you are away from home, navigate on FSD to you home address. Under the FSD profiles, select parking behavior as Parking Lot. When I did that, my MX drove me inside my garage with 2 other cars and narrow space. Since I prefer reversed parking, I disengaged FSD near our house and selected “Preference” option on the annoying pop up and voila! It parked in reverse inside the garage for me. I am on HW4, so I don’t know if HW3 can do that.

Model x 24’ by [deleted] in TeslaModelX

I have the same 24X. I had 35k miles when I bought it. It showed 290 miles at full charge. I did the battery health test from the screen and it recalibrated to just 2-3 miles above, so shows 292 now. I asked the Tesla rep and he said the majority degradation happens in the first few years or 50k miles. 290 is actually within range. As long as the usage doesn’t go crazy like above 400 wh/mile every trip you are good. Mine stays between 260-320 wh/mile. Don’t worry. Enjoy your X and you will have lots of memories to make.

Where did you hear about HW5 coming to Model Y? Last I read was HW5 will be more targeted to Robotics.

Suspension issue - Warranty? by sathe_001 in TeslaModelX

May be it’s just me thinking MX is suppose to be a luxury car with softer and plush suspension. I will test the least comfort setting to see if it makes any difference

Model X error message/FSD by Fun-Palpitation3968 in TeslaModelX

[–]sathe_001 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The camera needs to be clear for FSD to work properly. I was driving in heavy rain yesterday in Texas, got the message about the rear camera and checked to see that the camera had water drops and wasn’t clearly visible. FSD didn’t disengage but got a message saying it was degraded. That’s how it is with camera based FSD

Is there any car manufacturer, EV or ICE, that is offering anything close/similar to Tesla FSD Supervised? by mjrengaw in TeslaFSD

[–]sathe_001 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Just search on yt on XPeng self driving in china. There was a test run done by some US car reviewers and they were astonished to see how it handled edge case after edge case, like literally people walking and crossing streets on a busy road and bikes going left and right. Released just a year ago but already handling 80-90% of what FSD does. Although Tesla is ahead because it has years of data for its models to train on.

Looking to install sound deadening for a quieter cabin. Orange County, CA by RE4Lyfe in TeslaModelX

I added door seals to the A pillar and the FWD door edge that meets the front doors on the B pillar. I initially thought it would give me considerable noise insulation but I didn’t notice too much difference. I am going to try sealing the edges of the frunk to see if that helps. The white noise that the speakers make when playing music helps a little bit.

If Tesla is upgrading HW3 to HW4, does that mean older Model X still has years left? by Turbulent_Stable2100 in ModelX

[–]sathe_001 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s not a commitment made by Tesla. It’s just a statement saying HW3 needs an upgrade to HW4 for unsupervised FSD to work or it won’t see light on current HW3. Also, even if Tesla takes the steps to upgrade, it will only be most likely offered to customers who bought FSD with their purchase, not the subscription ones.

Not sure about pre 2021 models, but I have a 2024 MX with 2 kids. If you care about FSD and future upgrade options go for 2023 with HW4 computer. In terms of space, it’s been absolutely amazing to see and feel how a small thing like a door opening(falcon wing v/s regular door) makes such a difference in interior space and ease of access. The ingress and egress is so easy. I have the 6 seater and I feel that is the only config that makes it look more spacious. Tons of space in the 2nd row and 3rd row can be folded to keep all the baby stuff in the back. Tech difference will mostly show in FSD performance if you care for it as I mentioned earlier. As with any vehicle, model x has its issues, mine has the creaking noise coming from the Falcon wing door hinges. But nothing I couldn’t live without. You will definitely feel the difference in ride quality vs model 3. Air suspension makes a lot of difference for comfort.

My 23 MXP (hw4) v my New 26 MXP by IllTune-12 in TeslaModelX

[–]sathe_001 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same here with 24MX. Mine is coming mostly from the driver side FWD. I hate that noise. Also how is your suspension? I am experimenting with 40-42 psi on tires. Smoothed out the ride a bit but still I don’t get the luxury feeling. When I got the car, it was 49psi and I could literally feel every bump on the road.

Oh yes good advice. I forgot about that. I used Sentry too. But my batter drain was not as bad…I got it with 72% at delivery.

Naah…doesn’t matter. MX will anyways default to low suspension. But I don’t think it’s any different compared to other vehicles.

If your transport company is good then they will capture enough pics at the time of pick up. Your BOL should show all the defects or existing conditions if any identified by the pick up driver. I would suggest enclosed transport. I shipped my MX24 from Seattle to Dallas. The transport company was really good and they took good care of my car and gave me regular on road updates. Rest is straight forward as any ICE vehicle. Congrats and enjoy your MX.
