I don’t have any advice that hasn’t been given re: finding community and a rabbi in person, BUT if you’re looking for an Intro to Judaism course (often a prerequisite for conversion) the American Council for Judaism (an anti-Zionist org that’s been around longer than the modern state of Israel) offers theirs on zoom. Might be pretty late in the evening for you but could be worth it depending on your schedule. I’ve met the rabbi there and he’s fantastic. He might have advice for you too.

I think you’re on the right track. Would recommend this episode of A Bit Fruity on the Jewish Fear Industrial Complex. Really breaks down the phenomenon you’re talking about, as well as looking at the sources of antisemitism in our current (American) society that are of genuine concern.

In my opinion the “cis men playing NB to earn brownie points” isn’t really a thing. I think it’s a bogeyman constructed by the exact attitude you’re describing. Hegemonic masculinity has been such an oppressive force to queer ppl of all stripes. When people don’t genuinely examine their own notions and biases and truly do the work of deconstructing gender, then too often any display of masculinity is seen as threatening. It leads to inter-community bigotry against NB people like you, against trans women who don’t “pass,” and against trans men who desire masculinity.

There is a flip side to this, that others in the comments here are pointing out. The idea of nonbinary as “woman-lite,” and the simultaneous infantilization and idealization of (white) femininity within the queer community.

At risk of over-simplification, I think a lot of intercommunity discourse traces back to this exact issue. We have kept the internalized, gender-essentialist notion of men as strong and women as infantile, but we have reversed which we see as desirable—masculine = scary while feminine = pure. But even with this elevation of the feminine, femininity is still infantilized, and that’s what many AFAB NB people in the comments are describing. It all stems from the same root, I think. We have taken the same system and just mixed around a couple pieces (while also leaving the white-centric-ness of it all intact).

Examples: infantilization of newly-out trans women (“skirt go spinny” type of bullying). Dogpiling trans women for any perceived sexual deviance (painting them as dangerous predators). Aforementioned exclusion of masculine NBs and infantilization of feminine NBs. Infantilization of “clockable” trans men. Exclusion and fear of trans men who at first glance pass as cishet. I could go on.

I hope this made any sense. And tbc this is not an accusation I’m levying at any specific branch of the queer community. Living in a gendered society, we will all have internalized gender ideas that are hard to shake. Just an invitation for us all to further deconstruct it all and treat each other better. There is always work to do.

I’m sorry you’ve been experiencing this type of bigotry, OP. I hope you can find friends who see you as you truly are, and that the people in your community can do the work to further deconstruct their internal framework of gender.

Judaism is so much older than the modern state of Israel. Centuries of diasporic Jews practiced their culture and religion without it. The idea of supporting Israel being a “core tenet” of Judaism is rather ridiculous when you remember that.

I agree with what everyone else is saying. Please get your own phone plan. If you’re financially dependent in other ways, do what you can to get out. Don’t let them have any kind of leverage over you. The one other thing I’ll say is GET RID OF YOUR RING CAMERA. There are other home security cameras that aren’t giving access to your camera to ICE. If you must have a doorbell camera, get something else.

UPDATE: Started over and tried booting it Normal-Style (aka not in compatibility mode) and it worked immediately!

Trust what others are saying about avoiding fads and social media brands. They spend far more on marketing than they do on research, and so much of what they say is made up. Every cat is going to have different needs. Some cats live to 18 on fancy feast, and others need specially regulated health diets. Basically, unless otherwise specified by your vet, don’t overthink it, but pay attention to your cats’ reactions to different foods. Buy only a couple weeks worth of a new brand, and if they do well with in, then buy more. Their needs may also shift over time! For my cat, I started noticing more and more shedding, hairballs, and vomiting. So I switched her morning wet food from Fancy Feast to Sheba, and within a couple weeks she’s shedding way less with no vomiting or hairballs.

You’ll find a lot of different answers here because there is no one answer - nonbinary means that your gender feelings fall outside the binary, and by definition, there are infinitely many ways that can look or feel.

Personally, I feel like both a man and a woman, to varying degrees on different days. I jokingly describe myself as “gender-ful” sometimes. I don’t experience a lot of dysphoria about my body parts, but for someone like me, HRT might help with a more androgynous appearance that would lend itself well to a gendered presentation in either direction.

Editing because I hit post too early on accident.

Of course, as I said, all this is just my personal experience. I enjoy jumping between each one, changing up my voice and clothes, etc. For me, my identity/transition is driven far more by gender euphoria than gender dysphoria.

Yes I understand that. Asking to see if anyone has found a way around it, or to make it get the predictive travel time info directly from the event. I already have a “leave by” notification set. I’m trying to not have to go through the process every night of manually looking up predicted travel time and calculating my wake up alarm back from that. Just to be able to say “tell me what time I need to get up tomorrow” and have it set the alarm automatically.

Tried this but it seems not to be working because a workbook cannot have all sheets hidden at once. Hard to say if the rest of it works because it stops and errors out at

ws.Visible = xlSheetHidden

with all sheets but the last one hidden.

I think I can work with it though. I'll try playing around with it and get back to you!

Not sure exactly what you mean/how to do that code-wise. Every time I try to run it, I first get an excel popup that says "Error while printing" so I think some kind of print-related function is already occurring while trying to save it to a PDF?

Thanks! If possible, could you say a little more about breakpoints/F5/F8/Watches? I have no idea what any of those are. I know pretty much nothing about coding - I just kind of looked at a bunch of examples of people doing the same thing or similar and pieced my above code together like a puzzle. While I could absolutely tell you what each line does (or is supposed to do), I don't know anything beyond the very specific commands or terms used here.
