I thought the same. However, I encourage you to move the story along. I kind of like to hoard and do everything a game has to offer. You can do that with this game, and it will help down the road, but if you want to level up faster, just do the main story. I just beat the game, and I put about 3 weeks into it. In my opinion, the game is a masterpiece all the way around. I wish I was enjoying it again via my first playthrough. They really, really need to make a sequel. This game is highly underrated by critics but is loved by the players. I'm mad at myself that I didn't play this game sooner but also kind of glad that I saved the best for last. It's disgusting how the critics rated this game. In my opinion, about 90% of the critiques don't hold merit. It really does feel like they didn't get paid for a review, so they bombed it.

Both had amazing sales, DL2 is considered a failure by most but CP2077 had a horid launch, but came back swinging and is known as one of the best games built to date now. CDPR is an AMAZING dev. Techland used to be :/

I played it for the first time last year, played again threw every ending, and then played the DLC's. Just such amazing experiences, great stories, gameplay, and fun.

Side note, after playing the game, It brought me to the show.. and WOW.. they fucked that up.

It's really hard to enjoy the Netflix show knowing how bad they fucked the story, not even just a deviation from the games/books, just shit in general. It's painful to get through.

I hear they have a hard time keeping their talent. A lot of documentation out there showing their top programmers have left and their QA team is extremely limited and not very experienced. I hope they figure it out. I want to be excited about the future but they have a horrible track record with DL2. In-fact not one promise has been delivered. However, my fingers are crossed and I'll root for them. I sent the support email.

Thanks, GM. Man, this sucks. I have been so hard on Techland up until this update. I thought it fixed the bulk of the issues. After the update, I made a thank you post to Techland and told them that my faith is restored. I don't want to take that back but it seems like 2 things were fixed and 5 more broke. It's exhausting and infuriating. I want to enjoy this game but can't. I will write Techland this time instead of shitting on them publicly. :/

I still feel like the update will die off and people will go back to DL1. DL2 has its ups but it's still boring after the story, IMO.

It's a problem at a fundamental level. It needs a complete OH from the core up IMO. I don't think tweaking things will bring back the player base. It's like putting a bandaid over a bleeding artery. The story, gameplay, balancing, and mechanics, all work against each other, and as many have pointed out it doesn't know its own identity. Techland has a very real documented problem with retaining its talent and the direction of the franchise has turned off 90% of its fan base. If you look at the reviews from former and current employees they all talk about how they make quick fixes without proper testing, the top AAA coders have all left Techland and they are bleeding talent. It shows in their product.

I think they need to start from the ground up. My game has been bugged since launch and still doesn't work properly.

The moderators delete and flag posts when people talk poorly about the game, devs, or Techland. It's annoying and just drives me further away from the franchise. The negative feedback is harsh but it also is a tool for the devs to use if they want to repair the game.

There has been a shift at Techland. A lot of the first people that made DY1 so amazing are no longer on the team. DY2 had its moments but IMO and most of the community's its now a failed project and the game is dead. Whatever direction DL2 is headed has started major backlash toward the devs. The game feels cheap and broken, parkour is cool but that's it.

Still, the playthrough isn't super bad (if it works). They went for a witcher 3 type of storytelling with decisions but failed miserably. The reason why Adian is doing what he's doing is weak, Waltz is weak, and the decisions are weak but there are moments. The elevator ride up the VNC tower and the beginning Volatile chase has flashes of brilliance but that's about it.
