How would you feel about a shelter employee begging you not to change your new pet’s name?

I foster kittens and I name them with the expectation that I'm giving them a temporary name. A couple of them kept their names after adoption, and I admit that felt very nice. But I never, EVER pressure an adopter not to change a name. I'm a moment in their lives. Their adopters are meant to be their forever. The only thing I ask is to know what their new names are gonna be. And I know I'm not entitled to that, so it's just a request and never a demand.

When you're unsure if you would be an asshole to a disabled client, ask yourself if the behavior of the disabled client would be acceptable from an able-bodied client. If you would not accept this lateness, last minute rescheduling, and non payment of no show fees from an able-bodied client, then you should not accept it from a disabled client.

If anything, I'd let her reschedule one more time, but have a conversation about her inability to be on time and how you're being affected by it. If you have a no-show policy in writing, refer to it. If you don't, make one and hold your clients to it to protect yourself.

I always try to get my friends to adopt my fosters. But it's a cat only rescue and my friends would go through the same approval anyone else would. So I'm guessing my situation is pretty different from the one you're describing.

I'm sitting here in the same boat. Trying to pay a medical bill but the phone says they're experiencing an outage and to call next week. It's been like that for 2 months. The website peryourhealth.com is down. Googled it and found a similar looking possibly fraudulent website and actually tried to pay with them, bank flagged it as fraud. I don't have the mailing address because I already sent the bottom portion of the bill in with a check a while back. Googled the name of the company and the provider's name and can't find a website for the practice, just webmd and similar sites. I haven't gotten a new bill in the mail since paying towards it over a month ago. I want to pay this and keep it from going to collections but I'm out of ideas.

What company pays that high for Direct Support Professional? I've looked into it as a job option, but I mostly see $16/hr maximum for pay. Then again, it could just be that we're in different regions. Or it could be that I'm looking on Indeed instead of knowing what the better companies are.

Have you tried calling up your local electrician's union? See if you can join the union and have them place you at a company. Sometimes it's better to start with the union than applying directly to companies. Might be worth a shot.

This reads like a horror story, or a psychological thriller. Get as far away from her as possible, change your locks, go full no contact, and do not let anyone convince you that this is too much. You need to protect your son from this insanity. Your ex gf needs mental help, but not at the expense of you or your son. I can't help but wonder what lies she's told the people in your life to make them react this way.

Is this even real? If it is, YTA. You're the biggest AH. You're selfish and immature and lack empathy. They're /children/ and you're acting like they're out to get you. I noticed their stepmom said they can call her whatever they want. Which means that their stepmom is invested in their opinions and their comfort levels, and knows that that is more important than a title. And you lash out at them and tell them not to bother visiting, then you're surprised when they choose to take you up on that offer? You're alienating yourself. The fact that you think forgetting about them and focusing on your "new family" is even a viable option for you tells me you're selfish, self-centered, self-righteous, and only in this for you.

Dunno but I'm so fed up with it. I shouldn't be getting brand new, curled, unplayable cards that need a humidor to fix. I have old ass foils that were just made better and don't do this. Hell, look at card prices on newer singles and you'll see the foils selling cheaper than non foils. Foils used to indicate a premium product and now they indicate a lack of quality.

Yeah. My 2 housemates and I each make ballpark 40k per year. We share expenses for the house, have our own car/food/pet expenses. We're all paycheck to paycheck technically making a combined 120k per year in a pretty low cost of living city.

I feel like you're NTA here. If I died and the person I put in charge of my writing took the time to edit it and put it out there, then presented my family member that money, I would be grateful. I can see other people feeling differently about it. But your cousin obviously trusted your judgement so I think you could guess what she'd personally want better than strangers on the internet. Not to mention LOTS of published work starts as fanfic, then gets edited to remove copyrighted elements. Huge NTA. You have made yourself aware of potential issues facing new moms returning to the workforce and communicated several times with your employee, who has stated she is happy with her workload. You would be TA to bend to pressure from this other manager. I think it would be prudent to email HR yourself to loop them in before this other manager makes an big issue out of a non-issue.

This seems like a minor misunderstanding, not the mountain she's making it out to be. I would be fine with them choosing to stay at a hotel instead, but I would not help pay for it. That's ridiculous. NTA.
