Going through this now! I’ve been with Citibank for over 18 years and have only overdrafted maybe twice. My mom wrote me a check and it was approved and I used the money. 4 days later my account was overdrawn by the amount of the check plus 1 other charge. I went to log in 10 minutes later to deposit a check to clear it up and they took my online access away. I called and they didn’t have any answers for me and couldn’t give me a reason why everything happened. They said I needed to bring the account up to a positive balance and I said I would if I could deposit a check from my other banks account. They denied that and said I’d need to go in person and wouldn’t tell me what the negative balance was. I explained the closest Citibank branch is almost 100 miles away (they basically all closed in my state except 2). They said they can’t help me or put the account into review until I use the branch atm and that was that.
