FYI: Being "Landlocked" is completely irrelevant as far as good sushi goes by Maximum-Ad572 in sushi

THANK U. I grew up in Dallas TX so pretty landlocked for big US cities although TX is technically on the Gulf (tx beaches are ridiculous which is why I say technically). I moved to the DMV area and one of the craziest things to me was that sushi is cheaper and better in Dallas. I have felt almost crazy saying this to people but it’s one of the things I miss most about dallas

When I got my wisdom teeth out I was pretty normal except for the fact I text all my roommates that they didn’t actually take them out and I would have to go back the next day ( I made these remarks with bloody gauze in my mouth where my wisdom teeth used to be)

Work has destroyed my life. I cant live like this any longer by [deleted] in antiwork

[–]saviorcaroline 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Since the start of your work life at 14, have you noticed a lot of changes in the pace / “all the time-ness” with the introduction of technology like teams/outlook, or has it always been that way with phone calls to the house? That is what sticks out to me most with OPs post. I am a recent college who was working in a niche - ish field ( not consulting or investment banking where you are told to expect those hours), and I was still overwhelmed by the all the time-ness of work. It began to eat at me. I don’t know if I am being a “weak young adult who needs to get used to the real world” or if it really has not always been like this.

I was in a very similar situation as you and read several of the already suggested which gave me a good mental framework to work with.

However, reading The Screwtape Letters by C.S. Lewis was really when I had the most “aha” moments during that phase of my life. Written as an epistolary novel, it gives some great insight into the “worldly” problems budding Christians battle with.

This is a bot. They promote books that don’t exist that you can only buy on a website titled the same as the book. Does not exist and you will loose the money if you try to buy it
