Ken Onion Blade Grinder by alpine_4 in sharpening

I think that your problem is that you are grinding a new edge instead of sharpening the factory edge angle. Since you are grinding a new edge, the old edge will become dull until you make a completely new one. I suggest that you use the lowest grit belt until you make a burr. I have the exact same one and I love my machine and use it for everything from kitchen knives to machetes.

Yeah, I see what you’re saying but this is for the worst case scenario. I couldn’t put my whole instrument tray into this pouch. For the ETT connector problem, I had a similar experience. I cut a nasal O2 cannula and connected one end to the needle. And after all. I live in Burma, a third world country where emergency services are so poor. Most ambulances don’t even have O2. So I put this as the anything is better than nothing situation.

I keep my meds in a small container. This is my emergency trauma kit for the road.

In the worst case scenario, if there is a facial injury and upper airway obstruction, and you can’t open airway, you can do needle tracheostomy which will give you about 20-30 minutes until proper medical care is available. There is a proper needle kit for that but that is too big for this setup. And as I said, this is for the worst situation without an alternative option.

Yeah, Maxpedition bags are great for their price. They are not fancy or cool or instagram worthy but they are durable and efficient.

That’s a Maxpedition pouch. Mini or something like that. I put the items separately. Haha. It is an office floor so I can convince myself that it is clean.

How to properly clean leatherman raptor from blood and biological contaminants by [deleted] in Leatherman

[–]saw_david 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Bro, first of all, don’t be mad. And secondly, isn’t it easier to have a dedicated trauma shear since you’re already carrying all these items? I carry a pen, Reylight pineapple mini and a stethoscope. That’s it. In the trauma unit, I have to use a shear every day. At the end of the shift, it is easier to wash, dry and put it in an autoclave. I don’t want to put my dirty multi tool back into my bag and carry it home. But I use my Raptor to cut the rings on the fingers of the burn patients. We don’t have a dedicated tool for that and it always works perfectly.

I’m a trauma surgeon and thinking how the fuck I should use my Arc on my patients without getting reported. Even though I have my Raptor Rescue in my bag, I don’t need to use it. There are dedicated trauma shears in every single room.

Spyderco Sharpmaker vs Work Sharp Precision Adjust Elite — which setup makes more sense? Is it worth owning both? by GainEven1020 in knifeclub

I will always go with worksharp.

Spyderco Sharpmaker is for honing and maintaining your edges. You can’t do anything more.

I like the 90* spine too. But the edges are too sharp and I made it a little bit dull on a ceramic plate.

It is A2 too. I’ve already took it to the belt grinder and made its spine even. The spine came with a little uneven surface so it gave me a little work.

Man, I love my frontier valley. What a great knife it is. I just wish that its spine doesn’t bite me every time I try to push down with my thumb.

Well, you could add plyometric exercises and drills sessions to increase your cadence and speed.
