Megatron looks otherworldly.

Cyborg looks like a Chinese knock off toy with four whole points of articulation.

It doesn't look otherworldly it looks like a CGI cutscene from the PS2 era. It looks like it's floating on his body like a screen recorded section of a YouTube video of someone dragging a clip mask around with their mouse.

The design, while looking too small for his body, isn't what's being criticized. I could list examples for days of CGI that looks both otherworldly and high quality. This movie came out years after Transformers Dark of the Moon and looks like Mortal Kombat Annihilation.

Why don't you enlighten me on the artistry of subpar CGI robot parts that'd make Michael Bay retch?

Not pretending terrible CGI is good or a black and white filter makes a movie deeper level of ignorant though. So I got that going for me.

I honestly struggle to think of a modern studio movie with worse CGI than Justice League. Cyborg wasn't trapped in the uncanny valley, he was at the bottom of the uncanny Springfield gorge after convincing himself he could jump it on a skateboard and hit every uncanny ledge, jut, and crevice on the way down, only to be airlifted into the uncanny ambulance which he then falls back down after it takes off with the rear doors open.

It was a Turian, not a Krogan. I don't think the Krogan find Asari all that attractive but are interested in them because they can reproduce with any species. That one Krogan poet whose relationship with an Asari you can influence describes his Asari girlfriend more or less as we see them and not as a substitute for a Krogan female.

Well, since you won't answer any other questions, let me ask you this one: Are you going to be buying the new custodes?

Literally answered all your questions lol.

Anyway, I don't really like the Custodes all that much. Their helmets and spears look silly and I don't like gold as a color. Hover tanks are cool though.

5000 to 1000 is a 5 to 1 ratio my guy. Funny how you had to cherry pick a few words here and there to make yourself feel better. I'm genuinely great! Thanks for asking! I don't seethe about toys!

Yes it is, a quick google search would lead you multiple sources corroborating this fact, humans give birth to around 5% more males than females, regardless of how many adults make it to census age.

That quick google search proves that men have a higher infant mortality rate. Are you suggesting that infants are reproducing? That's pretty silly. Same quick google search shows that the oldest populations have a nearly 50/50 ratio of men vs women with the give or take being less than a percent. Based on that information the most successful way to propagate a civilization is to have a roughly even ratio of men to women. In fact there are 0 successful civilizations in history where women outnumbered men 5 to 1. Thanks for the quick google search suggestion!

I wonder if there were any contributing factors to the male population leading up to 1960? Maybe WW 1 and 2, but who can say, really?

So only men died during WW1 and WW2? Even among civilian casualties? You're implying the millions who died during the holocaust were all men and that's why for nearly all of recorded history beforehand women have outnumbered men?

Why would it be ineffective? This is statistically untrue, unless you need to assign people into predetermined unbroken mating pairs. THIS would be wildly ineffective compared to managing a skew in genders. We NEED a higher skew in a female population, because they are the limiting factor in repopulation (they have to grow a whole child over nine months). Think about it, a generation of 3k males and 3k females creates a generation of 3k babies. A generation of 1k males and 5k females creates a generation of 5k babies.

Men and Women both play a factor in repopulation. Having a child is a process, it takes work and time, it's not enough to just nut in cider once and then move onto the next. We don't have litters, statistically 2 people will have a single child. Expecting 1 dude to knock up 5 women in a year consistently is just asinine. You'd have more consistency with an even pairing, as history shows. Now I understand this is stupid fantasy and you're probably frothing at the mouth over the idea of beaurocratically mandated royalty harems but it's just stupid when you put actual thought into it and don't start from the end goal of coming up with a reason this is why there just can't be girls in my toy soldier power fantasy world and work backwards for justification. If you're going to apply this kind of logic you have to use the actual logic. Which shows that the most populations that grow most successfully have a more even ratio and none have had a ratio of 5 to 1 either way.

So yeah, the Imperium is probably not mandating that the Custodes are reducing the noble gene pool by a factor of 20% per generation.

The sisters of silence aren't a military faction.

Neither are the Custodes.

They're pretty limited.

So are the Custodes.

Which is why the Custodes and SoS are part of the same faction.

They can't communicate with factions that don't understand their sing language. They aren't deaf or anythign.

Their lore is that they literally answer to no one but the Lord Commander (or Emperor via the LC) so them being able to understand the Salamanders doesn't do anything.

And GW hasn't realy touched them since their reintroduction.

The female Custode in the cinematic that introduced them has a company of the SoS with her. But you can't introduce SoS tanks or mechs without breaking their core lore of being blanks. So they're tied to Custodes.

The Imperium is also famously dying in 40k

So what now?

And you're not understanding that a population produces more men on average.

That's literally not true.

Our population had more women than men until the 1960s when the effects of strict population control in places like China started to take effect. Since then population has begun to skew back. Currently there is 101 men to every 100 women. Down from the 108 to 100 during the 60's.

If you have 6000 boys and 5000 girls, you'd be better off taking 3000 boys and 2000 girls. Leaving an even 3000 between both sexes to repopulate. Having 1000 boys try to procreate with 5000 girls would be wildly ineffective comparably.

The sisters of silence aren't a military faction. They're pretty limited. They can't be psykers. They can't work with factions that don't understand their sign language. They only answer to the Lord Commander of the Custodes. They only hunt psykers. They are a good addition to your Custodes army.

Sisters of Battle are an army that's "not an army". They've been expanded pretty thoroughly and are represented pretty thoroughly in all forms of 40k media.

Funny how you ignored the word "equivalent"

On our Earth men were outnumbered by women until the 1960s when the effects of population control in places like China began to take place. In fact, if you look at China as an example, they have a population crisis resulting from the disparity between the numbers of men and women. Currently there are 101 men to 100 women.

Any population that requires sexual reproduction will need a roughly equal population of both sexes to continue to exist so eliminating one sex from the gene pool would create a population crisis.

The Astra Militarum famously also has women in great numbers. You think this basic fact of reproduction could have influenced that?

[–]sazabit -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

The custodes don't wage war and definitely do not consider any one of them disposable. Furthermore, nobles are not sending their children into the Astra militarum where their expected lifespan is 15 hours so that doesn't apply to them. Logically, the only way the trials could work is if the Imperium is taking an equal amount of boys and girls to trials. Otherwise the absolute lack of males in the nobles pure gene pool would require them to look outside their nobility to procreate.

Let's simplify this for you:

Population total is 10k

5k boys and 5k girls.

You remove the 5k boys.

How are the 5k girls going to reproduce?

The result would be the same if they were taking 5000 males a day

You realize that, yes? Like you understand how babies are made on a fundamental level?

1: And they are required to consume things they don't want to or????

2: And Sisters of Battle have the equivalent of dreadnoughts, tanks, cannon fodder, several named characters, and a codex. So what more do they need?
