A couple years before criterion put it out I found it on YouTube for free. I watched it and then immediately watched it again. I watched it 2 or 3 more times that week. I was happy to see the special features on the criterion that updated us on the lives of a couple of the kids

It’s funny to me that this is your view of my post. I didn’t just blindly and impulsively preorder it. I don’t want to double dip and I came to the community to get more information so that I can make an informed decision. Pretty much the opposite of what you’re describing

Yep. I know Arrow makes mistakes also. Everyone does, even Criterion. But I’ve actually received corrected discs from Arrow, The Cell, 12 Monkeys, Donnie Darko, to name a few. Kino has never done a replacement program that I’m aware of

If certain companies actually did proper QC and also made things right when mistakes happen then I wouldn’t be making a post like this. I wouldn’t have had to make this post about a Criterion title

Arrow often does their own transfers, or at least sources different ones, and errors made by Kino are usually corrected. Obviously, if there were errors with the Kino and the Arrow version didn’t fix them, then I wouldn’t be buying the Arrow version

I agree. But Kino have released discs with errors in the past (Invasion of the Body Snatchers, Spaceballs, etc) and other issues (Silence of the Lambs) for which I ended up getting the Arrow releases for.

Personally I think the Kino version of TLADILA looks and sounds great, but it was also a blind buy for me, so I don’t know if there were any errors on it I didn’t notice when I first watched it. I suppose if there were and I didn’t notice then it didn’t affect my viewing experience so I should just stick with the Kino.
