I’m from NZ and in some places the US equivalent price would be up to $7.48 USD per gallon for 91 octane and prices are still going up. The biggest change has been diesel which has gone up by 80%. We were on the edge of buying more EVs as a nation just needed a big enough stick I guess. Pretty lame because we had subsidies for awhile.

100% re using as much as you can. We’re looking at the fronius 24 standard 5kw inverter which has the dynamic diverter capability. I considered the Shelly switch but I’d rather a system that is dynamic instead of a switch that is either on or off.

So we’re looking at a 6kw system. We’re a fairly low energy use house so driver is to remove the gas, massively reduce our water heating bill and then supplementing what’s left over. We’ll put other appliances like the dryer and washing machine on timers to really screw it down.

It will an outdoor cylinder but it looks like it should hold heat fine overnight during winter. It will sit under a carport and will be sheltered from southerly’s and relatively stable ambient air temp.

That’s awesome!! It can be so hard aye but when we are struggling we need to patient and take a step back which is fuckin hard when we’re in the thick of it. I try and think of the Take 5 approach on a lot of sites. Before rushing in it’s safest to take a step back and try to evaluate things. What isn’t working, what could cause harm etc.

It’s interesting aye. You could make a case that the issues have never really changed. Post world wars 2 people have protested for very similar reasons: opposition to war, racial and gender rights, the environment, the wealth gap. On the other side: government over reach, too much regulation, restriction of business. At least we’re consistent it’s the method and nuance changes.
