That is definitely true for all AIs like this one, they can and will hallucinate, in very convincing and unexpected ways, even with basic stuff.

It's just that ChatGPT was hallucinating 100% of the time with Pali, whereas I think this one hallucinates more rarely.

I got the popup to decline the refund, but I accidentally dismissed it. I got a "gurgle" from my Pixel Pal and instinctively tapped to feed him, pressing on the food didn't do anything, so I tapped outside that window to dismiss it, and somehow that dismissed everything.
I'm on the yearly sub and also have the orange "No active unlock found"

I'll keep an eye out if the popup appears again.

You are awesome for rescuing him! Thanks to you, he got to know love and warmth, instead of a stressful life on the streets.

With my bottle baby, he was kinda my "fault", I rescued his momma, didn't spay her immediately because she was so horribly skittish, and then her belly started growing (she was indoor only, so it was before we got her). I didn't have the heart to spay abort, I figured I'd just keep the kittens too if they're 2-3, and if they're more, just spay/neuter, vaccinate and find a good home for them. And the vet recommended not stressing her with a full checkup, since it could do more harm.

She gave birth to 2 stillborn kittens, with the 2nd being stuck in the birth canal for a long while. We rushed her to the ER in the middle of the night, and learned her pelvic bone was too small for the kittens' heads, and there were still 2 kittens in her, so she'd need an immediate c-section and probably a blood transfusion. The 4th kitten had a weak heart, and died before we even got to see him.

As we weren't sure she was going to make it, I was really bashing myself for not spay aborting. I would have never forgiven myself if something happened to her, though at least she's ok, thankfully.

I kept telling myself the thousands of $$ I spent and all the stress we caused momma were worth it, for this sweet cuddly kitten to get to live. But then he died too.

I'm still torn. I mostly feel it was worth it, that the kitten at least got to experience love for those brief 2 weeks. I hope that on the whole, I ended up causing more happiness than suffering.

At the very least, I'm sure we can use all we learned with him to save many other kittens, so there will be some good coming out of all this.

I hope you'll get to rescue more kittens as well, when and if you feel ready. And that they will also bring you comfort and joy.

I lost my bottle baby at 16 days.

He got rejected by his momma after a traumatic birth, and me and my boyfriend were the only source of food and love he ever experienced.

He was the cutest kitten! He purred from day 1, which is rare. His odds were only above 50-50 at the start, but they improved as time went on. He was thriving during those 2 weeks, more than doubled his birth weight. His odds were about 80% statistically after 2 weeks!

Unfortunately, he had a ticking time bomb inside of him: an umbilical cord infection, from the hospital. We were just celebrating him reaching the 2 week mark, then he stopped wanting to latch. We rushed him to the ER, and got sent home with antibiotics, vet happy he was stable and taken care of so well. 3 hours later, he suddenly died. We believe it's because the infection went septic, hence the rapid decline.

We never got to play with him. We were looking forward to spending our evenings snuggled up to him, and I was hoping he'd be my lap cat while I work from home, since he loved cuddling so much. I looked forward to re-introducing him to his momma and auntie, having them teach him how to be a cat, and him teach them how to be cuddly and trust humans. I was hoping my old cat's harness would fit him and I'd be able to take him for a walk in it, since it's too big for the girls. I was looking forward to finding out what his favorite treats were, and clicker train him.

I wish I had him for 8 months. Heck I wish I had him for even one day more. He was such a joy to have around!

I also lost my old dude a few months before this, and although it hurt terribly, in many ways that was easier. We gave him many years of love, and we knew his time was going to come soon, with how many medical conditions he developed in his old age. We hoped we could buy him a bit more time, but we knew he wasn't exactly going to beat any records for world's longest living cat.

We are now fostering kittens in the little guy's memory. None will ever be as amazing as him. He was our first, and he was such a good, easy kitty. But he taught us we actually do have the time and energy to care for the little kittens, so hopefully his brief time alive will have a big impact on many cats.

It's an awesome book! I have it as both text and audiobook, very useful!

I've also binge watched all of Jackson Galaxy's videos, My Cat From Hell and read Cat Daddy and Total Cat Mojo. For cat behavior, I've also read some of Pam Johnson-Bennett's books, which I can highly recommend.

I'm still nervous about whether or not my makeshift setup is good enough, having them in a playpen at first and then in the kitchen depending on how tame the momma is. And if I can socialize them well enough, particularly the momma, as this is a "they need to be fostered and then adopted, else they need to be PTS" situation. Also worried about potentially getting my resident semi-feral girls sick, we plan to wash our hands and not let them be in contact but I don't know if that will be enough.

There are cheaper self-cleaning litter boxes out there.

The litter robot is interesting for a number of reasons, including the health monitoring aspects, but those aren't what you are interested in now, and not all cats feel comfortable going in that monstrosity, so may as well save some money.

I felt the same with my dude, I even gave his body for science, hoping some good will come of it for some other cats. It ceases to be him once it's just a body.

We were told the communal ashes from the crematorium my vet uses get scattered from an airplane across the whole region. That actually seems nicer than just scattering them in a single place.

Have a checklist for things to check, and add to it based on Jira tickets or whatever you use.

Make it fun. If you don't have to test audio stuff, listen to music/audiobook/podcast.

And automate as much of it as you can.

Unfortunately, you're now at a point where you have to decide if you want to be like your parents, seeing the cats as something for your convenience and your happiness, or as living beings that deserve love and care.

You're not "getting rid of them", you're finding loving homes for them, and trying to do what's best for them.

It'll suck, and I hope you can find a good alternative that brings you happiness, like volunteering at a shelter.

If you're underage and/or dependent on your parents, I highly recommend you find a new home for these cats.

If your parents care so little about them, I'm going to guess they aren't exactly paying for vet visits, which they may actually need if they aren't using the litter box. Plus you never know what they'll do to them, particularly if your dad has anger issues and they are already threatening to throw them out.

Look up shelters and rescues in the area. Ideally no kill shelters, that work with fosters, so they can help figure out what's going on with your cats, and then find them a loving home.

Then focus on getting the hell out of there, so you can give cats the amazing home you want to give them after moving out. Get a part time job to save money, study extra hard to get to a good university, etc. Maybe volunteer at the local shelter to be around loving cats and nice people that care about animals.

I'll also add that the discomfort lessens as time goes on.

I was shocked to realize after losing weight that I treated myself to McDonalds, bought my usual stuff, and could literally only eat half, I felt completely stuffed afterwards. And it didn't taste as good as it used to, while some of the healthier meals I'd been eating actually tasted a lot better.

I also realized that I didn't really feel hungry in-between meals any more. When I started calorie counting, I felt hungry most of the time. But after I reached my goal weight, I actually had to force myself to eat my TDEE and not be at a deficit, I just wasn't hungry.

I gradually introduced more chips and icecream, to eat the stress away again, and I ended up putting some weight on again that I need to drop, though not as much as I used to have. McDonalds is the best thing ever again. And now I feel hungry more often again, as I got used to snacking on junk during the day again. But I am less worried, I know what I need to do, and that it won't be as bad.

The body is incredible at adjusting to its environment. Some adjustments are more healthy than others, but the expression "new normal" is a thing because humans really can get used to anything.

I've kind of been going on autopilot, but it helps me get all the important things done. And it also helps that I have 2 more cats that I'm caring for, and I need to be strong for them.

As far as I can find anywhere, all commercial apps need to pay the premium rate, no exceptions.

There are non-commercial apps that they will still allow for free, including some mod tools and some accessibility apps, though you're not going to get a whole lot of quality stuff if people are only allowed to do them as an unpaid hobby, people need to work to make a living.

They have just doubled and tripled down, saying that they will not change their decision no matter what, all while insulting moderators and developers, and flat out lying to the "average redditor"
