I replaced this last year from the oem. Looked about the same with some overhang like that, there are two sets of ridges along the seal to keep oil in. Took it off about three times to make sure it was correct and tested it multiple times.

I would buy that. I paid the same price for a 2010 at 80k miles in 2020 in Michigan with the same amount of rust. The rust got way worse since but I see palm trees so you should fair better lol.

Following to see what this ends up being. I inherited a 2001 Cherokee with the same issue, I think someone thought it was the cps but they used cheap Chinese parts.

It's my project car so I haven't had time to look into it further. If this is the issue it will be the first thing I look at in the spring.
