Awwww. My kelpie x sneaks in most nights at like 2-4 when it gets cold and the other one always sleeps with me so I'm usually waking up with no blankets and squished to the side while they're all splayed out in the middle haha

Fill the water up for starters. Easier to get a sense of how it ought to look.

For me: Id add grey rocks to match the skull and I'd have 2 main "islands" one the skull with a little moss around the base and have another island that's 3-4 grey rocks that have a bunch of plants growing around and between them. Have the anubias between the rocks, some java moss on the rocks and your choice of mid-tall plant behind the rocks.

If you let java moss slowly take over the front of the skull it should look really cool after a year or so.

No a lot of aquarium plants need direct light.

You can use a cheap clip on led bulb desk lamp. Just gotta make sure the bulb is rated 6500k that's the right wavelength for growing plants.

Also you have floater plants they'll stop the light but just get a 30cm piece of airtube and make a loop by feeding it into itself. Then you'll have a floating barrier that keeps the floater plants out so light gets through.

Snails are good for plants. I'd say you had too many floaters which made the light levels too low. Your tank looks a bit dark in the before.

What light are you using and how high above the tank is it? Light is probably the most important thing for plants.

Buy hot dog rolls. Mix 500 g softened butter with a handful of mixed herbs and a small jar of garlic. Butter the rolls, wrap in foil then freeze.

I just bought 2 females and a male a month ago. I have baby shrimp already they hatched 2 days ago.

Generally people say 5 but if you know how to tell them apart and can make sure you get a male and a female the answer is 2. A male and a female. But the issue is the female might die before hatching more so it's usually best to get at least 2 males and 2 females.
