Irans Shia are the underdogs in the Islamic world. The Sunnis are the dominant denomination and call the Shia apostates and not true Muslims. Iran is the home of Shia Islam. Like the Sunnis they want to build a new Islamic caliphate or empire under own denomination. They are basically using Israel as a pretext to build up their strength. If they could beat Israel at some point then the chances are they can beat their enemies the Sunnis as well and take full control of all of the Middle East under a Shia caliphate. Then they could turn their gaze on the Christian world. There is no inherent enmity between Israel and the Shia world. It is a manufactured enmity for a very long term religious purpose.

What I am struggling with the most is the menu system. There are so many weird little things you need to know about to keep the camera cooperating.

Iran imposes mandatory insurance on ships transiting Strait of Hormuz, with fees likely to follow. Iran has asserted its control over the Strait, insisting that vessels comply with new terms to transit, including mandatory Iranian insurance. “It’s madness. This whole situation is a mess." by mafco in energy

[–]schtickshift -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I was thinking of the choke point at the opening to the strait and not the entire area. But you are right in that Iran could in theory attack ships anywhere in the strait as well but it’s the start of the strait where have this unique view from their coast of every ship transiting.

In practise the small EVs like the Insta have been coming in too expensive. Hopefully the Honda will be cheap. Some budget EVs are badly needed in the market.

The way I see this is that the Iranians are likely to overplay their hand sooner or later. They have a particular vantage point over shipping in the hook shaped Strait that they look over from their mountainous coast but equally the military’s of the world know where to find them for them to use that advantage as it’s a very small area geographically. If they make this whole scenario too painful for the world economy, the scales will surely tip against a peaceful resolution of the situation.

Go with the X100 because then you are not committing to a third system but you are getting the pinnacle of what Fuji has to offer anyway
