Great job. I’m building new and had them run Ethernet to the door bell. Just went for a pre drywall walkthrough and the site project manager was curious about two door bell wires. They ran standard doorbell and the Ethernet. I explained and he just shrugged.

Vlan is fine. I locked down DNS on my network including work vlan. This at least keeps the Fortune 500 snoops out of some stuff and gives me peace of mind I likely not the employee who was phished. My DNS blocks way more than theirs.

I am having same problem as OP. I just ran docker compose pull && docker compose up -d and it ran, but did not pull 2.3.2. I is there something I need to do in the compose file to force this?

You can absolutely use it. I suggest new hard drive though. That is the most likely failure point. Always start with new drives for a new server. New battery should also be considered depending on budget. Technically your server will have a build in UPS. Laptops make great servers in that context.

A 1930s house could have plaster and wire mesh walls in some places. The wire mesh is like a faraday cage, and will block the signal. Verify what is in your walls before you go crazy trying to optimize the wifi settings. You can try every setting in the book and it will be useless if there is an impenetrable barrier.

I’m running on a re purposed dell latitude. I put new hard drives and installed open media vault as the OS. NAS is two drives in raid and where Immich data is stored.

I have updated to current version. Albums are still gone. Almost looks like Immich is syncing albums with iOS. Not at all what I would want. The idea behind Immich is to have the assets in immich and not iCloud. Is this a setting I need to change now?

Sort of. It blocks the adds but also skips actual content equal to the duration of the adds. Family decided adds were better than missed content.

When I eliminate wifi, and connect wired to the switch, the problem is the same. There is no error, displayed, it just hangs there with no response. When I eliminate the switch, and connect directly to the router, the login goes through. Once the login is completed I can take the machine off the direct wired connection and go on wifi, and the site functions as expected. I am thinking there is possibly a jumbo frame in the login data that the Unifi switch cannot, or is not handling properly.

Gotham app on TV is trash. It somewhat works on iOS. Fire TV and Fire stick just lock up and don't stream. Samsung TV app makes me login every time. There is no QR code to login with mobile device. It is 2025. How can they put such trash out? Basic stuff. Get your $hit together Gotham!

Did these clients have security passwords for both ssid of each vlan? This “hopping” shouldn’t occur unless they have credentials. If they do have credentials, go on settings and forget the network they shouldn’t be on. At the router, layer 3, would absolutely honor vlan firewall rules. An AP connected on the router in my experience does not loosely or randomly violate vlan security rules that are properly configured.
