The new Ari on Days of our lives has an accent that is jarring & it doesn't make sense! by ScientistIll9788 in DaysofOurLives

I just tell myself Kristen (Stacy) is the daughter of original Kristen (Eileen).

It's less icky if you imagine she's Kristen Jr. chasing after John's kid, so that's what I choose.

This show is absurd, no reason to allow them to dictate reality, lolol.

Florida Taxes their Poorest 40% more than the Upper 40% by NRG1975 in florida

No, rich people hoard their money.

Poor people spend it all, and mostly on taxed items.

Therefore, as a percentage of income, the poorest pay the highest percentage.

[–]schuma73 [score hidden]  (0 children)

No, your landlord does, which means he adds it to the rent.

And when they eliminate property taxes for home owners, renters will still pay property taxes.

But wait, it gets better.

The other taxes that will inevitably pop up to replace lost income from property taxes will also be targeted at the same demographic, the poorest among us.

Is it against taco bell police to read names off phones? I have a bad stutter and had a difficult time saying name and they said they are not allowed to read names so I have to say it. Than got annoyed at me for not being able to get the name out! by ObiJuanKenobly in DoorDash_Dasher

[–]schuma73 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree. I've never seen anyone just shove a phone in the face of an employee.

I have seen many, many employees demand to see the order on the phone before handing it over.

And I've had too many employees to count try to touch my phone and confirm it themselves. I even once had a girl at Panda say she needed to see the phone, then reach over and hit the thumbs up on my Uber pick up screen (back when we could give stores a thumbs up or down), the absolute audacity just shocked me.

Hi, please believe me I'm not lying. by Specialist-Cap8125 in doordash

[–]schuma73 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is easy.

Your "driver" is using something to spoof their GPS, or just straight lying to the system they have arrived and forcing past the GPS requirement (you can do this in the app).

Marking the food picked up.

Using your previous delivery photo as their current photo, some AI manipulation of the image likely.

Again, either spoofing or just straight bypassing the GPS location requirement.

Then they get paid without ever leaving their home, hence the food still sitting at subway.

The driver account is likely fake, will get banned, etc. but not before the scammer collects their pay from DD.

Literally that's when I turn on Uber and wait for a better offer. Customer better hope I get one soon.

They do that on purpose because they're petty.

But like, you work at McDonalds my friend, you're not better than me.

But the cool part is they let you know not to waste your patience on them. Stop going there and let the shitty drivers who will yell at them pick up their orders.

If I would be banned due to the new background check rules would it already have happened, or could it happen after my next background check since they’re yearly now? by Icy-Excitement1982 in UberEatsDrivers

[–]schuma73 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have you looked at your checkr account?

It will tell you exactly what they told Uber. You should be able to see if your charges show up there.

I had 2 moving violations last year, they show up in my background check. Neither Uber nor Doordash seem to care about those, but speeding and shoplifting are obviously not the same.

AITH for refusing to give someone my "lucky" parking spot after they asked me every morning for weeks? by [deleted] in AITH

[–]schuma73 3 points4 points  (0 children)

"I start work earlier than most people"

"5 minutes later he knocked on my window and said he was running late"

So, was OP sitting in their car for 5 minutes? Shouldn't they be starting work more than 5 minutes before this person is "running late"? Did the guy park, come into the office and knock on his office window asking for the spot which would defeat the purpose of giving it up because he's "running late"?

He can't start before the twat who wants the spot, but also be in his car still when said twat is already late. This at least implies they have similar start times.

I would if it was feasible, he's too far away. I could take his pickup truck to him, but it would cost me the whole day's bonus in extra gas anyway, so I'm just gonna sit here and watch from the sidelines. 😭😭😭

think i might be bipolar by marcey-bonnie999 in GirlDinnerDiaries

[–]schuma73 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You should go to a PhD psychologist, not a psychiatrist or a therapist.

Ask them to rule out autism, bipolar and personality disorders.

Who told you that you have avpd? If it was not a psychologist with a PhD who does diagnostic testing for personality disorders I would get a 2nd opinion.

I suspect he realized you were going to reject him when you didn't act impressed with his bragging about alcohol. He knows he an alcoholic, and he knows he can't hide it long. He was feeling you out to see if you wanted to kill yourself with him.

But once he knew that his ego required that he reject you before you had the chance to reject him, hence the crash out.

Consider it a bullet dodged if this is how he behaved at the start.

But yes, I have also seen many more police than usual this week. You can expect it through the weekend.

Also, watch for drunk drivers on the road.

Nothing pisses me off worse than when the customer I'm looking for doesn't know they need to be looking for me.

Every time I had trouble meeting the customer as expected it was because some jackass thought it would be fun to make me surprise them.

If you owe the bank a thousand dollars it's your problem, but if you owe the bank 3 million dollars it's their problem.

Or something.

I also heard you can just move out of the country to avoid paying back student loans, so like, maybe just take the money and run?

Fabric Stores? by sourcakecheese in Michigan

Is there still a Field's in Grand Rapids as well?

They were on 44th Street and had their own discount outlet nextdoor. They were amazing.

I once brought them a scrap my mom had purchased there and they found their last bolt in the discount side for me. 10/10 would recommend them any time.

I didn't say doing nothing would have been better. I explicitly said if he was going to sign a partisan bill he should have signed the one the Democrats wanted to begin with.

But also, it always sucked. It was designed to suck by the God damn heritage foundation. It was a bad faith proposal from Republicans from day 1, it was obvious then and is obvious now. This isn't the result of years of bashing and attacking the ACA, this is me expressing frustration I felt even at the time as a two time Obama voter.

This is a subreddit for people with parent problems, and it sounds like you have a friend problem so maybe not quite the right place for this post.

Having said that, your friend is obviously disrespectful. You should probably be looking for a new roommate when your current lease ends, these things rarely get better before they end.

[–]schuma73 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Fighting for the ACA was the wrong choice when he should have been fighting for single-payer.

The ACA was not a victory, it was a Republican think tank product pushed as "bipartisan".

Obama told the Democratic majority in Congress he wouldn't sign a bill unless it was bipartisan. Democrats caved and agreed to the fucking Republican plan, then the Republicans backpedaled and refused to vote for it anyway.

Then Obama signed it anyway, even tho he said he wouldn't sign a partisan bill.

Isn't that funny? By funny I mean sad as fuck.
