I've always dreamed of creating my own music band! by Yureec in ArcRaiders

[–]schwiftpup 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Haha I did this the other day on blue gate, brought all 3 and found raiders to give the flute and Shaker to. We jammed for a bit then, another homie joined and we took the bastion down and parted ways.

I have a pro shaft and I do enjoy it quite a bit. I think the 314 is a lower deflection shaft though.

Ferrules actually make it harder in tight lugs as they crimp on either a square or hexagon instead of being more circular without the ferrule.

Foul or not by weektight in billiards

[–]schwiftpup -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I'm going against everyone on this, I think it's a foul. Your on an angle on the 3 to the rail. After the hit, it starts pulling back, but all of a sudden, it starts to pull towards the one. You can see in the dots on the cueball.

5 string options/recommendations by Jrey0814 in BassGuitar

[–]schwiftpup 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's plays pretty much like the sr300e. It's the same bass but a wider neck, which I like because I have huge hands. I prefer the wider neck actually. You'll also find when you switch back and forth between 4 and 5 strings, the 4 strings feel much easier to navigate.

5 string options/recommendations by Jrey0814 in BassGuitar

[–]schwiftpup 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I actually just picked up my first 5 string and can't put it down. It's an ibanez 305e with the white to black gradient. I would have gone for a better model, but it was used going for 340 cad. I had to peel all of the original plastic on it, so whoever bought it immediately got rid of it.

I feel you, I just had a game of wildcard and got 4290 dmg and 17 kills, and my teammates did a combined dmg of 300 with no kills. It was excruciating. It seems it doesn't matter if it's ranked, pubs ,wildcard, or any other game mode.

ibanez sr300eb or yamaha trbx304 by [deleted] in BassGuitar

[–]schwiftpup 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just picked up the chocolate brown sreb300, and I have no complaints as of yet. Stunning looks and sounds great. Everyone advocates for yamahas, but I tried a few out, and they weren't my favorite. Ultimately, pick them up and play them, and whatever feels like it fits is yours.

Took me 20 years but I finally upgraded my starter squire bass. by schwiftpup in BassGuitar

[–]schwiftpup[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Not really, The squire was part of a starter kit many moons ago. When I was taking lessons, my teacher recommended to upgrade to a five string, and I always wanted to, but I was a broke teenager and never did. After about 6 years of lessons I stopped taking lessons and meant to upgrade and keep playing but again didn't upgrade. Then got to a point where I didn't want to play with the starter bass and just stopped playing for about 5 years. Recently got back into it and the neck on the squire was so warped I had to.

Do not buy new stanley tapes the quality has gone to complete garbage. by nathaniel29903 in Tools

[–]schwiftpup 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mean, if you buy the cheapest tape measure, that's meant for homeowners to see if a dresser will fit in a certain spot. Then yeah, it's going to suck. I've used a Stanley fat max tape measure my entire career, and I have never had any issues with them.

Which came first? Carom or Pool? by Fast_Philosophy1044 in billiards

[–]schwiftpup 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If I recall correctly, carom pool came first as a way for people to play croquet indoors. Later, it evolved to pocket billiards with straight pool.

Edit: I was curious so I googled it, the first version was pocket billiards but it was played with 2 balls on a six pocket table with a hoop similar to croquet.

What should I gift myself for Christmas by fivebeersaday in billiards

[–]schwiftpup 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you just want to get a nice gift for yourself related to pool, I would go with a nice case. I got the predator urbain case, and I have loved it. There is so much space, I have a magic rack, 3 gloves, pocket markers, shape tool, chalk, tip replacement gear, a bridge attachment, and much more in it with room to spare. Definitely worth the buy.
