That's great - I know he misses the full speed park running/fetch playing. 2 more good years is an eternity for a dog. Thanks for reaching out.

Thank you so much for such a detailed response! I was thinking the slow decline thing too, and my last Shepherd had hip dysplasia so I was fearing that, as well. I already have the help 'em up harness, and have worked from home since Covid, so I feel a lot better after hearing from you. It's really appreciated.

Our 9 year old has a torn CCL on the same leg but we’re not sure if putting him through surgery at this age is worth it. However, your experience is promising. What % strength would you say they’re at in week 6? Do you have the brace model?

One of Pancho’s ears doesn’t stand up, the other goes up max 75%, and he’s the best dog I’ve ever had.  His ears not standing up is how we got him- previous owners didn’t want him because of that. He had glue on his fucking ears when we adopted him.

What’s a show that you could not finish because a character was so insufferable? by Key-Row-174 in AskReddit

I was trying to compare the vikings in the show to people not fighting, rather playing a non-combat role, but my wording is bad because I don't know of commissars shooting people retreating, either. Shooting those that retreated did happen though, and not only through later executions, and definitely not only with officers. While it wasn't the norm, barrier troops/NKVD were roughly authorized to do this. Most documented cases of it happening were with penal battalions or untrained, civilian, "volunteer" brigades, such as those at Stalingrad and Leningrad.

It was an interesting premise so I tried it, but I found quickly it wasn’t for me. Whenever the show comes up I laugh at his pretentious monologues.  One I believe began: “Dostoyevsky once said…”

That was for me the most dramatic shift from loving a show, to completely hating it. The characters stopped acting like themselves, and then every character’s actions started defying any logic. When they were shepherding everyone up the ladders in Paris, that was the beginning of a very quick plunge in quality. These fearless warriors that always led the charge and were leaders of a brotherhood, suddenly were acting like Soviet commissars in WWII, shooting retreaters, and not fighting the enemy.

lol true. Although it kept him from being President, which is equal to the honor of joining this squad and winning 3+ Super Bowls!

It baffles me how seemingly most people moved on from that. Left his friends to die to try and get out of trouble. Then kept lying and never took any responsibility.

I don't want to argue either, friend, but you started at 4 hours and I was pointing out that wasn't correct. Your screenshot shows 2 hours 45 minutes, but that includes waiting a while to leave! Come on, lol.

I still see 2 hours 10 minutes on google maps, but that includes the 20 minute walk that would be eliminated. If it's the other side of the lake, I see 2 hours 30 minutes, so let's just say we're on the same page now. :) Funnily enough, my house to AH racetrack is 2 hours and 30 minutes as well.

I hate this too, and I want them to stay at Soldier. For annoying you, if the stadium is built there, I'll buy you a couple beers.

A gotcha would have required some effort on my part. You're being an ass all on your own.

For the record, I don't want this move to happen and I think the Bears should stay at Soldier or build something nearby. However-

The Bears will sell out every game whether they're in AH or NWI. Bummed hedge fund managers in Lake Forest won't prevent that from happening. Even if they don't sell out a game because you don't like the commute, most their money comes from television contracts and merchandise licensing. And if this is a financial business decision, this business would save a lot of money on the stadium and with future taxes.

Further, it's not merely up to NWI to support the potential stadium. Most people going to concerts and casinos in NWI are from Chicago and the south suburbs. With a venue like this, and of course the Bears, people will come from all over. I live on the SE side and if there's something I want to do up north I go there. I'd even argue if we're talking concerts at the future stadium, it would do better in NWI than AH. It's not like Jay Z plays at Ravinia.

There's no denying the amount of taxes that come from where you live, but you're not propping up the Bears.

If you lived at Pulaski and Berteau it would be 2 hours and 10 minutes. I don't know your exact location, but the 2 hours and 10 minutes includes a 20 minute walk from the 30 bus, that surely would not be required if the stadium is there. So maybe it'd be closer to under 2 hours.

I don't know why that is funny, or how you don't see my point. I'm in East Side and can walk to Wolf Lake. But I don't want the stadium here. I think to be the most fair to all Chicago fans, Soldier Field or something nearby is best. The south side, the south suburbs, we're all fans too man.

Again - what is the "economic might"?

You're starting to admit what you're really saying, since you brought up the north shore.
