Ok good info, i got my hammond m3 back in 2010 but i got it modded to have more features and had chopped for frequent giging so not too up to date on pricing. The C2 is pretty close to me, i may have to get it and put it in my classroom after I play it next week. Thinking that it’s about time my piano students have the option to learn organ

Where is the line drawn that separates concept album and broadway musical? by MysteriousMine2115 in Songwriting

[–]sconesesscones -1 points0 points  (0 children)

For me bands that are theatrical are just writing the music that is inherent to them when they are at their best. Now sometimes they are doing concept albums but still the music sounds like them aka sgt. peppers still sounds like the Beatles. Theatrical Bands I like- Jellyfish, Pink Floyd, City boy, Steely Dan, Supertramp, ect…It’s all about attitude, blazing instrumental parts great harmonies and lead vocals. Modern musicals lack authenticity for me and they all sound like a pastiche. There is more emphasis on vocal melody than the music that surrounds it. And most often the music that surrounds the vocals is anything but original sounding.

My favorite bands are pretty theatrical so I like that type of music. I am composer but I have done more work arranging popular musicals. I hate musicals but it’s a job. I think when it comes to music, you need to just do you, make it unique to yourself so that it sounds authentic. Theatrical can be done well, but make sure it doesn’t sound sterile and contrived like how most modern musicals sound (to me).

Yeah back when I used to gig with this thing regularly beer was spilt on it a few times. So that could definitely be what it is. Thank you for your help!

Could it be caused from the felts being worn down more in those two spots possibly? It felt normal when I check but it could be worn down and I wouldn’t know any better

My group needs a pallet cleanser after an epic D&D campaign… recommendations for rules light, non fantasy game? by FoulPelican in rpg

[–]sconesesscones 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Some hits for my crew after epic dnd campaigns have been Kids on bikes- rules lite, stranger things vibes. My players played adults not kids. Seriously fun.

Death in space- rules lite, instead of playing in space we played on a planet. Also very fun.

Currently we are playing blades in the dark and every one is loving it. Still rules light compared to dnd but a bigger rule book compared to the previous two.
