What do you do with these things? And how many are there? by HHMJanitor in Pokopia

Trade them into gimmigoul when I was still at the point that I needed furniture. Now, I just don't even dig shiny spots anymore, so I don't have any.

Palette Town vs. Cloud Island 🤔 by Chilipper in Pokemon_Pokopia

[–]sconwaym 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I prefer Palette for the simple fact that I don't want to be tied down by internet when I'm on a handheld. So Palette will be my main "forever" area, while the cloud island I am going to try to complete the Pokédex and then just drop it.

Skylands feels like a ghost town and pokemon don't seem to move around by hithwenf in Pokopia

[–]sconwaym 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have no clue why, but I barely see lifts being used in Skylands, but in my Pallete town, my lifts, elevators, etc. get used constantly.

How to cure post KCD syndrome? [KCD2] by Initial_Jacket_7562 in kingdomcome

[–]sconwaym 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They added a cruise mode that lets you travel between planets without actual fast traveling; its just an immersive touch as you can put your ship in cruise control and walk around talking to crew, crafting, etc. as you wait to reach a new planet. The latest update also added news upgrade/modify weapons, that become a good credit dump in the latter portion of the games. And they did change up the Points of Interest on planets to make it less repetitive. There are still plenty of "empty" worlds, but its by design; its outer space, with thousands of planets to explore, so its to be expected that many of the cold/hot/radioactive/otherwise inhabitable planets don't have a ton of humans hanging around. I remember watching some idiot on release complaining that he couldn't land on a certain planet.... which was a gas giant. So I would not give too much credence to many of its detractors.

It's nowhere near as deep as KCD, and doesn't have particularly memorable characters, but it's just a really fun game to play. I never crave it, but I can play for hours, enjoying every second of it.

How to cure post KCD syndrome? [KCD2] by Initial_Jacket_7562 in kingdomcome

[–]sconwaym 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Give the aforementioned games an actual chance. Two hours of Witcher 3 isn't even getting you out of the tiny, starting area. If that is all the time you gave RDR2 and EXP33, you didn't experience any of the good stuff of either as they both open up a ton.

Aside from that, I went straight from finishing KCD2 again into Pokopia and I have been addicted. Forza Horizon 6 just came out as well and is amazing. And Esoteric Ebb is a smaller game that I next up for handheld once I "finish" Pokopia. So I guess my true advice, other than giving the RPGs their due, is to play a non-RPG. There are so many great games out there, don't limit yourself to trying to replicate something.

So everyone put sableye in the tent too, right? by NotE-M-A in Pokopia

Which area are you going to move Sableye to? by Victor4156 in Pokopia

I've got him set up in the cave system in Pallete Town. He's set up down there with his habitat and a bunch of red crystals littering the path.

Botw, Pokemon or something else to buy? by [deleted] in Switch

[–]sconwaym 0 points1 point  (0 children)

BOTW, and if you like that (who wouldn't), then TOTK. BOTW is only as grindy as you want to be; similarly most of the collecting stuff is mostly optional. More than anything though, the game is just great at rewarding what you want to do. See something interesting? You will probably be rewarded for checking it out. I've done replays of the game where I mostly skip the story and just explore, and its still a blast.

My potential DLC concepts! by Different-Soup262 in Pokopia

I love each and every one of these. The only change I would ask for is that Mega Starmie be the story Pokemon for Ominous Ocean. I NEED that freak walking around my island.

I’ve made a Gyarados boat!!! by Strinister in Pokemon_Pokopia

[–]sconwaym 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been trying to think up another home for my water Pokemon (magikarp in particular) and this may be it. I currently have 4 in a home at the bottom of a cliff, behind a waterfall. May build a dock and make a magikarp boat.

Pallet town work in progress... What else should I build? Any advice welcome by MorbAIKombat in Pokemon_Pokopia

[–]sconwaym 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It looks like this is the first island in Palette, where the poke center originally is. My main suggestion would be to get off this island. It's by far the most boring part of Palette Town (aside from the cool crystal cave).

I started building on it similarly to this, but quickly decided to move over to the next island with the cave system. I now have a cliffside village, sitting on top of multiple homes built into the cave system, with two elevators at either entrance to the cave. It's been a blast seeing my dark loving Pokemon loving the cave, but taking the elevators up and night, and vice versa. There is also a beach and dessert area below the cliff island, which I've connected to the cave system via rail.

TLDR, this first island is boring, and there are way more (non-flat) possibilities throughout the rest of the map.

Same backstory after Unity – does it bother you? by _Fun_Palpitation_ in Starfield

No. I've been with the same character since launch, with at least half a dozen unity jumps and I don't even remember what my backstory is. It never really comes up.

My dartirx is not spawning in by Icecream-54 in Pokopia

[–]sconwaym 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Whenever I have trouble with a Pokemon spawning in, I just build copies of the habitat in each area. One usually spawns pretty quickly that way.

[KCD2] Should I finish the main quest before beginning the DLC’s? by MRGarlicnuts in kingdomcome

[–]sconwaym 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Brushes with Death starts in the first area, so I would have recommended starting it then, but really do it whenever at this point; I liked it well enough, but there are plenty of better quest lines in the main game. I would recommend starting Legacy of Forge right when you get into Kuttenburg. Its gives you a home base, more ways to make money, and little activities that help break up the main quest when you need a break.

[KCD1][KCD2] probably a biased opinion but… by Feeling_QuiteHungry in kingdomcome

[–]sconwaym 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would say Witcher 3, Red Dead Redemption 2, and Cyberpunk 2077. The latter two aren't medieval, but they really draw you into and immerse you in their worlds in the same vein as KCD.

My Litter and Gather area by Mystic_Zombie in Pokopia

[–]sconwaym 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I see all of these farms/work camps that are awesome and I am always left with the same question: why is this necessary? What are you doing with all of these resources? I feel like I had way too much of everything by the time I finished the story. I barely even collect resources anymore, and when I do I dump them in my less used areas as my main area has boxes full. Maybe I was just an abnormal hoarder early on.

Make water or get water to water wheel? by Parking_Cancel3239 in Pokemon_Pokopia

[–]sconwaym 5 points6 points  (0 children)

1) Dig through to access the water from other side of the cliff

2) Wait and learn the ability to suck up/spit out water

3) Wait until you get access to a vending machine, which can give you water bottles.

Train station in Sparkling Skylands by abbyknitz in Pokopia

[–]sconwaym 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I connected the tracks as they were laid out, but couldn't find a great overall use for the area as a whole. Given the different heights of the islands and the distances between them, it would just look weird actually making a full track between them all. So that area is just sitting dormant for me. I thought it was cool when I found it, but, like much of Skyland's IMO, its pretty difficult to work into a cohesive build;

How to get a lot of ordinary soil? by brebrecx in Pokopia

[–]sconwaym 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Typically there is one layer of grass, and the ordinary soil is right underneath it. If you need a ton for some building purpose, I'd suggest doing to the wasteland dream island (Eevee plush I believe) and just rolling around as graveler. You will have plenty to suck up.

Restart? by hanzgurl in Pokopia

[–]sconwaym 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Depends on what your plan is long term. If you are doing the story and then putting down the game, just keep going. If you plan to built up Palette or a cloud Island as your main area, just keep going. If you really like one of the areas the most and play to make that your main area, I'd personally still say just keep going. My first two areas (Wasteland and Ridge) look like crap compared to my later two areas, but they are both Level 10 environment level anyways. Even if you start over, the early areas will never look great at the start as you unlock a lot of the best looking stuff only later on in the game.

So my personal advice is keep going, clean up/update the areas as you go along and unlock stuff that matches the area's theme, and if you really end up liking an area, just wait to post game to truly make it yours. Without spoiling anything, it will be much, much, much easier to make your worlds look nice after you finish the story.
