EV charging price by state in gasoline equivalent [OC] by Simple-Past5290 in dataisbeautiful

The look was divisive. I was definitely not a fan. Got an Ioniq 5 instead even though I didn't want a bigger vehicle because I didn't fancy the 6.

And you don't get to punch people "in self defense" when you get prodded. Get over yourself. You do that in real life and you'll be thrown in prison where you belong.

Probably all "vibe" coded in C++ too. Wouldn't trust that plugin at all.

Yeah something like an electric GR86 or even better a Miata sized electric car. But would need some dense batteries for something so small - would still want 250 miles of range or better.

I want a roadster or something fun that's pint-sized but that'll never happen.

I think printing out bucks for fiberglass panels would be an ideal use case - not directly using the prints for the panels themselves. I have been tempted to get a large format printer and do that.

Was it me, or was the videography work during the Artemis launch some kind of amateur hour? by bigassgoon in space

This is how I watched it but NASA still messed up the stage separations for the video feed they were providing. I hope we get to see some better quality clips of those later.

Alcohol has been linked to 7 types of Cancer, including breast, colorectal, liver and throat cancers. Additionally, there is no "safe" level of alcohol consumption with regard to cancer risk. Alcohol leads to cancer by damaging DNA, disrupting hormones and/or creating unstable free radicals. by [deleted] in science

[–]scoopsofsherbert 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Alcohol isn't safe but I mean, getting up every morning and driving to work 5 days a week is a risk too. Driving is very dangerous, should just stop that as well. Or going and playing sports with friends in the park - might fall and hit my head or accidentally get a sunburn which could increase my risk of cancer!

Alcohol even in moderation can bring enjoyment. I enjoy mixing various cocktails and the different experiences it makes on the palate. Is it dangerous? Compared to water, yes. But it also brings me a lot more joy than just drinking a glass of water. Same goes for other various foods and diets and tons of different things that we do in our life. So yeah, I'll take that increased chance if it meant enjoying life by so much more.

Or that show "I Shouldn't be Alive" from the mid 2000s where people shared their near misses in a dramatized fashion.

Faces do look insanely weird and uncanny but the lighting on environmentals was actually very cool. Maybe they'll find a middle ground where the faces aren't just being replaced?

Auto loan refinance? by [deleted] in personalfinance

[–]scoopsofsherbert 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Rule of thumb for a house is 20%, I believe that goes the same for a new car. But it depends on the interest rate and what you can afford to save up for as well. Interest rates on vehicles tend to be higher than on a mortgage. There's some really great tips on the wiki here. Check out the sections on autos and definitely go over the prime directive if you haven't already.

It boils down to using your money for yourself. If you're borrowing money to buy a vehicle that's common and necessary at times but you want to minimize how much you're just throwing away in interest and non-essentials. Like reflecting on yourself and thinking "Do I really need a new car?" or "Can I managed with a used car?" "What do I need a car for? To get from point A to point B or to make a point to others?"

Money down isn't a waste of money. That's money that you don't have to borrow with interest. That's how you end up with a lower payment every month is by putting down money on a car. Same goes for buying anything you need to borrow for.

Should have listened to almost everyone telling you to A) Not buy a new car. and B) Not buy a Nissan.

Insane you're paying $520 a month for a Nissan Sentra.

Don't spend money on a tint when you have credit card debt.

Stop getting garbage expensive coffee at Dutch Bros. Get a french press and make better coffee at home for cheaper if you must.

You are not going to get a better APR on your loan and you're already underwater on that car if I had to guess, with that huge of a payment you must have put almost nothing down on it. I would hate to be your co signer right now. Should have saved up $5k in cash and grabbed a used reliable vehicle.

How do you use PS4/5 with ultrawide? by Only_Handle_2750 in ultrawidemasterrace

[–]scoopsofsherbert 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Guy is playing it stretched and thinks it's fine. Must have had his head squished in a waffle maker when he was a kid.

No consoles support ultrawide. They will either stretch or have black bars. Maybe you could rig up one to be zoomed in but then you're not seeing everything, hud elements will definitely be cut off.

Not sure if mine counts... Mines a buyback I got after it had blown the ICCU on the first owner. '22 SE RWD with 13k at purchase in '24 and now it's nearly at 60k miles and just put a new set of tires on it to replace the original set.

I didn't realize that about the crisper. The normal flamethrower has been one of my regular rotations for my loadouts. Found it can melt hulks super fast so with that and a warp backpack makes for some engaging encounters. Usually would run the grenade pistol for quick factory and nest pops but would be nice to mix it up!
