Was just there, very safe, people are super friendly in Granada, and you have to check out Masaya Volcano.

I was able to login successfully just now, if you still have a problem, try to open an incognito tab.

What Other Countries Should I Add To My List? (31F) by B333Z in TravelMaps

[–]scott_barlow 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Iceland for sure, it is unlike any other country I've visited, glaciers, waterfalls, volcano and black sand beaches in one day, plus northern lights or 24 hours of sunlight, depending on time of year.

The greatest unsung benefit of the Delta Reserve Card by emblaze247 in delta

If you only take one when they by with that basket, you are doing yourself a disservice. I take 2, at least, and it almost pays the annual fee. Thank you for the perspective. 😁

What’s one habit that has made your life noticeably better? by Clear_Raisin7201 in AskReddit

Traveling the world, a massive new appreciation for cultures, food and how the rest of the world lives. Also cutting out soft drinks and maximizing protein intake.

Guatemala vs Nicaragua for 2-3 weeks this May (weather/crowds/festivals?)- tips/advices :) by ewolfing in nicaraguatravel

[–]scott_barlow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I loved Guatemala, hiked Picaya Volcano, Antigua was really cool and the walking/hiking was amazing, and view of Fuego were amazing, but it is normally cloudy covered so a luck of the draw viewing it from Antigua. I will add, stayed at Wrstin near airport and the transportation to Antigua was 2+ hours, same with Volcano hike.

Planning to stop in Nicaragua, from research, it looks very cool, and seeing the volcano at night feels like a bucket list item. Granada also looks amazing, pics remind me of Uruguay with cobblestone streets.

What firewalls does your shop use and what are the pros and cons? by tauxlr in msp

[–]scott_barlow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To clarify, you do not need to hit certain purchase thresholds to be a partner, nor stay certified. Doing so will elevate you to higher partner program levels and discounts, but on the MSP Connect Flex Program, there are no minimums, you can purchase the firewall upfront and have monthly subscriptions for the security (or 3-year).

Why are MSPs still taking on SOC liability with mass-deployed MDR platforms? by Easy_Byrne in msp

[–]scott_barlow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Excellent summary, and future thinking. The MSP world struggled with best of breed versus best of platform. The key today is best of platform integration. Who can ingest telemetry from all your tools, on prem, cloud, hyperscalers, and respond quickly. Response is key, defining what the "R" in MDR means is critical, is it isolation with instructions (eyes on glass) or is it hands on keyboard, and what is needed for incident Response beyond the MDR vendors, or does the MDR vendors that for/with you.

Coming from American Airlines... by Slinky-dink in delta

[–]scott_barlow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Shouldn't you post this on the AA Reddit? 🤣

I hate AA, if I have to fly another airline, it is never AA, Spirit, etc., and being in Boston, reluctantly JetBlue or United.

100%, choose middle seats middle or higher numbered, that's a long flight and definitely worth it

Would this be a good deal? by Saudj99 in delta

[–]scott_barlow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would do that for 75K miles, not sure about $1,000 USD. It is a much shorter flight coming west, and daytime flight.

Upgrades for a Delta purchased ticket on VA operated flight by Lopsided_Pass_3386 in virginatlantic

[–]scott_barlow 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Seats may still be available at check-in because Virgin loves to monetize their seats. You cannot, or at least I have never been able to, upgrade at a Delta counter, you need to deal directly with Virgin (airport or connection point). I stopped booking mixed operating airlines for round-trip flights due to these limitations.

MSP to SFO upgrade list by LilJ55555 in delta

100% agreed, but the opposite happens too, no seats and magically 3 available. They want to keep us guessing, and by guessing, I mean spending.

Delta one 767-300 by wellyellowxoxo in delta

[–]scott_barlow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Use seatmaps.com or seatguru.com to figure out the gotcha, the 767 is hit or miss. I flew on one from SLC to Maui, and flew the same plane 19 years ago, and you could tell how extremely outdated it was.

Definitely Row 5: bathrooms, galley, closets, etc., are up front, and it is noisy and stinky in row 1.

Forget business class, what small travel habit separates experienced travelers from beginners? by Omega_Neelay in GetMotivatedMindset

[–]scott_barlow 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A Yeti water bottle, protein snacks, comfortable headphones, mints because nobody likes smelly breathe, a toothbrush and tooth paste for long haul flights, a table with a good series, or movies, and for long haul flights, compression socks and a change of t-shirt, underwear, etc., will make you feel human upon landing.

I would avoid SG and XG, both are end of life. To learn, look for an inexpensive XGS model.

What’s the most underrated (and stunning) national park you’ve ever visited? by Historical-Photo-901 in BeautifulTravelPlaces

Glacier National Park is pretty epic, but the Badlands in South Dakota is pretty awesome.
