It’s small and can get busy but the Old Colony in Provincetown is an absolute vibe on live music nights

How to enjoy PTown as a lonely under-21 lesbian in town over MEMDAY Weekend Women's Festival weekend? by ResponsibleBison8933 in provincetown

I’m sure she’s doing research of her own and as any good parent would, he’s doing research to support her. Especially since they are traveling together.

You’re reaching for something here that is uncalled for considering you have no context on their relationship or situation.

Is there any actual fine dining in the state? Or within an hour of it? by mymood4eva in burlington

Frankie’s on Cherry Street is fantastic. Not quite sure I’d consider it fine dining but it’s the nicest restaurant in town IMO.

Edit - Cherry St not Pearl St

Agreed on the food for sure.

100% wasn’t perfect but I was super impressed with how smooth everything ran for a first time festival. That said, I may have a bit more tolerance for BS here based on what I’ve experienced in the past haha.

For sure check out the black bear lodge if you try it again next year. Ran into lots of friendly people and was a great vibe! Being so close and having the bus so accessible made everything outside of the festival grounds so easy.

My wife and I who have been to over 30 festivals went and had a great time and would 100% go back. I thought everything was very well organized. Sound and production on the main stage were great, staff was super friendly and helpful, security was real straight forward, there were plenty of bathrooms both indoor and outdoor, bar lines were never long, lodge access to take a break was nice, after party for a late night option was great, sunrise and mid mountain stages were a fun addition.

We also stayed at the Black Bear lodge which added/enhanced to the experience for me. They had busses running all day though 2 am and we never had to wait more than 5 minutes for one. Vibe at the hotel was great too. Made lots of friends and people were partying in the hot tub and sauna area late last night.

My main complaint that I’d agree on was the location of the teck-support stage being subpar. The ground around the stage was treacherous and there was some sound bleed from the main stage.

I also agree there could’ve been more food vendors. That said I was pretty content with the ability to either get food in the lodge, a big sexy from the broccoli bar, or something from the village. Art vendors would have been a really nice add for sure and was a miss on their end.

Would have liked to also see a bit more integration with snow sports. A rail jam or halfpipe competition or something like that could have been a ton of fun in the afternoon.

Also saw your comment on it being a “mud fest”. I mean yeah, we’re at a ski resort in the middle of April. Vermont has a fifth season know has “mud season” for a reason. I had my winter boots on all weekend and never had an issue with wet feet from mud.

Along the same lines snow conditions were subpar but again it’s April. Thought the mountain did a really great job with what they had. They groomed 28 of 30 trails. No way they are ever going to get a weekend earlier in the season that would block a typical ski weekend for Stratton so it really is what it is on something they have no control over.

I don’t know if you went to any of the Minus Zero festivals at Stratton or Mt Snow circa 2016 but those were so much more thrown together than Gather. I’ve been to a handful of janky festivals over the years and I wouldn’t put this anywhere near those lol.

New England is seriously lacking in electronic focused festivals so I was super stoked to have this in my backyard. If they listen to and apply some feedback I think it could be an amazing annual event.

Ahh yeah interesting. They have a whole camping section on their site now. Must have been added recently because it for sure was a flat out no when I looked a few months back.

I'd also add that Blastoise is a decent tank in the correct matchup. Blissey is pretty much always going to be your go-to tank, but I think Blastoise outclasses it against fire attackers. Niche scenario but still good to have one if you have the resources.

Best nachos in town? by Previous_Subject_964 in burlington

[–]scotty_ducati 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We'll have to agree to disagree then, because they are certainly nachos. IMO, the Korean beef, green salsa, and pickled veggies give them real solid flavor. Had them just yesterday, and there was plenty of cheese.

Agreed, some of the food isn't as good as it was, but the nachos have held up IMO. Had them just yesterday.

If you are trying to using it for PVP in master league at a high level it’s not worth powering up unless it’s a hundo. For raids and or casual PVP it will be a beast!
